People who think that god has anything to do with natural weather phenomena are too far gone for any type of rational thought. Once it permeates the brain that far, it’s very difficult to pull the bag off the head.
It is more damming when one realizes that even the god of the Bible tell us that regardless if it is with a purpose or capricious, the weather (“acts of god”) do not depend on how pure or wicked the people affected are.
As pointed by others, the people that do think about the disasters being sent by god have an out by looking at how blue the counties that were hit by Harvey were, but OTOH they will willfully ignore the “judgment” of the red counties if the latest projections hold out. The eye of the hurricane is drifting west of Miami and it may then go up the west coast of Miami and may hit the pan handle. That is almost all “red” territory.
I keep wondering…if God were punishing cities for homosexuals doing something or other, why is San Francisco doing just fine? No hurricanes or wildfires, and the last big earthquake was well before it became known as a gay mecca.

The Miami Herald has it heading up through Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky. With a little bit of southern Indiana and rural Illinois thrown in.

Unfortunately for many schadenfreude aficionados in this thread and elsewhere, it appears that Trump’s Mar-a-lago is about the least likely place in the vicinity to suffer serious hurricane damage. Built with 3 foot thick walls, steel-anchored to bedrock etc. Might lose a window or some roof tiles, I suppose.
Even worse is that last time he got hit by hurricanes Trump managed to make a profit by collecting $17M in insurance money and pocketing much of it.
