Hypothetical scenario where you are a cop investigating a crime scene??

Okay, so I don’t know if this is the right place or not, but I saw other threads from fictitious scenarios such as the trex and the .50 cal rifle.

You are in bed when a phone wakes you up, you answer and a man is yelling and swearing. You panic and smash the phone into small pieces and put your uniform on. You go outside the house and wander around for a bit, trying to find the map. Eventually, you find the map but you are almost dead from the snow and ice everywhere. You go back into the car and drive to the place on the map in the town. The cops in the police station talk of a gruesome murder in a isolated cabin in the woods. They send you along with 20 other cops to investigate. There is also a helicopter.

You drive quickly to the house which is 100 miles away. The chopper makes you feel safe, but then there is a BANG! and the helicopter crashes into a mountain. The cop station sends another helicopter but they forgot to put fuel in it and it crashes literally seconds after taking off. You look at the map and know you are less than 2 kilometers away, when suddenly all the cars get stuck in the mud. The cops try to drive them out but they sink deeper and deeper. The cops try to pull them out but it doesn’t work.

The cops decide to explore the nearby jungle for spare parts. 6 cops go looking. But then there is a terrible scream and you run into the jungle looks for them. You find all 6 cops dead and ripped apart from probably the wildlife. You walk slowly back to the cops at the cars, and it is very cold from the ice falling from the sky. The cops realise that they will die from hypothermia if they stay out too long, so they walk to the cabin. When the cops reach the cabin, they find a corpse in it, so they toss it into the woods. The cops see a solar panel on the roof, so they have a brilliant idea. You decide to rest first and go into the basement and find thousands of metal gas pipes. A gas furnace rests silently in the corner.

You go back to the top and tell the cops that the other 6 cops fell down a hole and were impaled on spikes made by ancient tribes, sof they don’t think you murdered them. They are shocked and take out their guns and walk around as they were in great danger. It is extremely cold even inside the house, so you decide to get one of the cars started. You walk outside and are almost frozen solid but luckily your laptop is made of metal and makes you very nice and warm until you get to the car. You start it up and are surprised to see it has become free of the mud.

You drive it back to the cabin but the wheels fall off and roll away, so the car is useless. The cops come out and are furious and fire their guns into the woods while roaring loudly, obviously trying to shoot the wheels. The cops are almost dead so you rub your laptop on them and then they are perfectly fine. But one of the cops becomes so excited that he nods his head back and forth so much that there is a snapping sound and his head falls right off his head and goes on the ground.

The cops calm down and pick up the corpse and toss it into the woods. They pick the head up and nail it to the front of the car as a brilliant mantlepiece. Then the laptop’s battery is gone and everyone is cold. But the cops have a brilliant idea! They start the car up and turn it off and repeat this many times until it won’t work.

Then they take the car battery out and connect it to the laptop. At first it doesn’t work, but then it works. The cops then rip the solar panel off the roof using the laptop to heat them. The solar panel is plonked onto the car and the cops start the car using the panel. You are worried that the solar panel won’t work when the sun disappears, so you remember the gas pipes in the basement. You grab the pipes and connect them to the car engine and then connect them to the house, which is now pumped full of hot gases from the car engine.

The cops now all go inside the house and seal it off. But then you get a terrible headache so you decide to go outside and walk around for a bit. There is a terrible snowstorm outside, and you sprain both ankles in the snow and decide to go back. Half way back to the cabin, you spot the cops walking around aimlessly inside the house, so you sprint back to the cabin and reach it in seconds. But when you open the door, you are shocked to discover all the cops are dead, without any injuries!

You decide to rest awhile on the lounge, after throwing the corpses on the floor. But after a few minutes there is a terrible buzzing in your head and you feel you’re about to pass out. You grab a gun and see zombies outside that look like cops but are zombies. But your head is a bit odd. Do you shoot the zombies?

What would YOU do in this scenario?

I would stop doing drugs, as clearly I’m not handling them well.
Also: “At first it doesn’t work, but then it works” - this sentence appears to add an unnecessary level of detail to your story.

Wow, what an, um, story.

I would only shoot one zombie, to make sure I’m not hallucinating - don’t want to waste ammo. If the zombies are real, then I would conserve ammo as much as possible. Escape, evade, don’t shoot unless absolutely necessary. Avoided getting cornered at all costs.

Huh? You lost me in the first sentence - why smash the phone to pieces? And what map?

I missed why you had a terrible headache and if that was a migraine or not. The level of details isn’t enough to provide an answer.

I’m clearly dreaming so it doesn’t matter what I do. Probably shoot the zombies or run away from them.

I would do just as you did, post the experience to an internet message board.

Well, it doesn’t always need to be explained, but I assume you are being sarcastic and know why then?

That sentence means that the character tried doing something once or twice, which didn’t work. However, the character was persistent and kept trying over and over until it finally worked.

Your character smashed the phone because he was frustrated about the station calling him in the early morning and wanted some rest. It was only a cheap $20 wall phone as well.

The map is used to pinpoint the location of the character, but when the character returned home last night, he was slightly drunk so he tossed the map off the road where it was blown away by the wind.

Also, what would you do once you’ve escaped from the zombies? Would you return to the house and wait until someone comes by or something happens, or would you wander around the snow and ice for a long time?

Skald the Rhymer has nothing to worry about.

But a point for you to clarify - do any of the zombies grow up to be Hitler?
