My grandson, our first grandchild, was born yesterday. Nearly 9 lbs., 22 in. Mom & baby are great.

Congrats from Kansas! When I think of proud grandpas I think of my father and the night we snuck down the hallway at the hospital and listened at the door. My sister was in labor and we hadn’t had a bulletin from my brother-in-law for a while. I thought I heard a noise, then it was just like in the movies, with “Wah, wha, wha!” Dad turned to me and his eyes were glowing “Did you hear that? Did you hear that?” It will be my most treasured memory of my father.
So are you singlehandedly already supporting the local photo development places?

I have a theory that the parenting bone dissolves once the grandbabies are born. My father fed my children cupcakes for breakfast and crawled around on the floor with them, stuff he never did with me.
As Bill Cosby said, “That person is not my father! That’s an old person trying to get into heaven!”
Feed the kids lots of sugar, rile them up, then send them home to their parents. You’ve earned your revenge.

My own grandson turned 13 on November 18th, so I have three teenage grandchildren and one five year old fairy princess.
