I am looking for a triangle donut maker

Holy crap-it just jumped to $711.

Doesn’t strike me as that weird–a few people probing for each other’s reserve bid limit, then getting really emotionally attached to being the winner until they bid an amount that the winner may regret when the “auction rage” wears off. (That probably describes roughly 87.3% of Ebay auctions.)

Its very weird. K****D bid himself up from $576 to $677. Although, from the looks of things,it was just saving everybody some time. A couple of others have bid themselves up $20 or so.

That’s crazy! It would have to be a simple thing to reverse engineer. I think you’re on to a $million idea here, Czarcy!

I’ve got to know-Are you pronouncing that “Sar-see” or “Sar-key”?

It’s eBay. Every single person in the world who wants one, has probably already bid.

I’d read it as Tsar(-r-r-r)-key.

$700 is a lot to pay for a [del]Belgian waffle iron[/del] donut machine. You’re not gonna chicken out are you?

Ask me again after three more days of insane bidding.

That’s not how Ebay bidding works. You can’t outbid yourself–what you see is people bumping up their reserve bids over and over until they pass the previous high-bidder’s reserve bid. The bids are showing up a couple of seconds apart, so they must be using software to do it.

Actually, maybe the other bidder’s automatic rebid would show up in that posting history, too, at $1.00 increments in between. I donno, it has been a long time since I bought something on Ebay.

It rhymes with "snarky"of course!

In fact, I think I’ll change the spelling to Cznarky.

There are lots of donut makers on the market. You can find them at Wal-Mart for ~$20. This one was considered the gold standard mostly because of the nostalgia and the family traditions associated with them. Also probably the pound of lard in the recipe didn’t hurt the popularity of the donuts you made with it.

Enjoy,
Steven

Wow, the winning bid was $1,188!

Gotta be a nut to spend that sort of dough.

The winner was this guy.

I wonder if this thread affected the bidding?

In other news, a great Brown Bobby pic.

You need a lot of dough to make doughnuts.

That sign made me twitch. If they hadn’t misspelled “potato” then they could have spelled “Butter” correctly.

My Beloved gave a tentative “yes” when the auction was at $100, but if I had tried to top that $1188 bid I have a strong feeling both I and my donut maker would be sleeping on the couch for a long time.
I’m not even going to try to talk her into a road trip to Montana to pick up that $375 model.

Well I’m disappointed. Although $1,188 would probably buy more doughnuts than any sane person should eat in a lifetime.
