I don’t know Scylla, when it’s as obvious as this, it’s all part of the joke. But even if you call him a liar - at least he’s an amusing liar.
I’m utterly amazed that some people seem to be taking this at face value. Even forgetting the political stuff - Ann Coulter is hotter than Jeane Kirkpatrick? Come on.
Bah. Taggert is obviously a conservative pretending to be a liberal pretending to be a conservative. See, when all the liberals think that Taggert is serious, then they look like idiots. A devious plan to discredit the left-wingers around here.
But…what if he’s merely PRETENDING to be a conservative pretending to be a liberal pretending to be a conservative? See, there are layers and layers here. Or not.
You know something? This seems to be a correct application of Godwin’s Law.
As well as an illustration of what I am told Ann Coulter is saying in her book - that conservatives think liberals have bad ideas, but liberals think conservatives are bad people.
Well, if nothing else, taggert has made me want to read the Coulter book - and I didn’t think anything could do that.
Shodan, in all fairness, the first paragraph was someone else’s post I was responding too (DesertGezer IIRC) so I cannot take credit for it (nor would I). The bad formating is my part.
Of course you aren’t arguing or debating. But you aren’t describing, you are insulting. I understand from my search that you are a lawyer. Would a judge let you describe an opponent in such a manner? I think not. Would a judge let you characterize an adverse witness or party this way? Even in closing argument? Of course not. Of course this isn’t a courtroom, and you have no special license to be a bully here.
You are obviously suffering from a disease. The disease is called potty mouth. Somebody should wash you mouth out with soap.
I applaud this post. Says what I would like to say. This is a good a time as any to apologize to Scylla for the remarks I made the last time I addressed him with a personal attack. It was uncalled for.
Count me in with Guinastasia and airdisc. And no, I don’t find him annoying for his positions (whatever they may be) I find him annoying for his posting style.
NO! If you had read my posts in the recent Ayn Rand is a loon threads you would have realized not.
taggert is misspelled, and it should be taggart. I am a big Slim Pickens fan and that was the name of his character in Blazing Saddles, and hence my recent signature “I work for Mel Brooks!” where he socks Dom DeLouise. And no, that doesn’t mean I am a satirist like Mel Brooks, anymore than say “december”'s screen name means that he is the twelfth month of the year or that Scylla is a bunch of rocks on which the unwary get dashed. It means that I have used the handle for a long while and I am very fond of it. (And Slim Pickens.)
