Techchick Whined…

First of all, I live in North Dakota. Eastern North Dakota. There are no caves here. There aren’t even any hills for there to be caves in. It is impossible for me to live here and dwell in a cave. Therefore the “troglodite” comment is without merit.

I looked again for "meaning in your OP. What I found was a useless, whining post by someone complaining about board speed. A problem that has been thrashed over time and time again. You complain that the Admins are’t forthcomming as to the reason you can’t seem to load this free message board as lighning fast as you feel you should be able to with your 28.8 AOL connection. You claim that you do this complaining because,

If you treat people you “love” the same way you do as this board, with all your complaints of moderator actions, access slowness and just general bitching, it is no wonder you are single, you freekin’ harpy.

The Admins here are doing a tremendous job of keeping this thing together, in my opinion. I find it amazing that the Chicago Reader hasn’t pulled the plug on the whole thing, in fact. Iwith all we’ve been told about the bandwidth problems here, I can’t understand what it is that YOU don’t get about this problem.

Techchick, you remind me of the houseguest that complains about the bed, the food, the house, and it’s occupants, but refuses to leave, or help.

One correction to that last post.

At one point I mentioned her “28.8 AOL connection.” I see that she does not connect with AOL. I appologize for the error.

I would like to concur with the others saying that load times are really erratic. I would say board performance is overall much, much improved (and a kind thank you to whoever deserves it). The cost is that occasionally the board bogs down late at night (EDT night), whereas I don’t recall it doing that before. I tend to post most often at night, so I notice it more than the majority of Dopers, I’d wager. All in all, I think it’s a fair trade, and I’ve really got no complaints.

The rest of you–you’ve made your point that you think techchick is silly for whining about a free board. Can we move on please?
