For the past couple of days the board’s performance seems to have hit an all-time low, for me at least. Yesterday, and all this afternoon, I’ve been unable to connect to the boards, as I keep getting a “Connection Reset” message every couple of minutes. Every other website I try to access is functioning OK, and I’m posting from a university connection, so I presume the problem is not on my end.
Is this going to continue indefinitely? It seems to be worse now, for me, than it ever was.
I haven’t seen any difference in the past couple days, in fact it’s seemed to me recently that I’ve been seeing a lot fewer connection issues.

I think they’ve decided to change the interruption pattern to humor the folks in the US at the expense of Europe!! 
Seriously, a few weeks(months) ago, the worst problems were encountered in the 7:30am EDT-11:00am EDT US, and many Aussies and Brits said they weren’t bothered. Maybe the host just changed the time frame for something they’re doing.
SDMB performance has been crappy for me lately. I’m in Canada just across the border from Minnesota. I have not had performance problems with other boards during this time.
Yeah if I try to check the dope in the mornings right around 7:30-8am, it may not load up for me and I have to keep refreshing to get on. It’s been happening for about the last week or so.
A solution is allegedly being considered by someone somewhere near the top.

It works! In the past 24 hours, if I COULD get logged on at home, I was not allowed to post. Usually I could not even log on, but I could read the Board. All I got was your standard, generic Internet-error page. I tried two computers here at home and received the same error page on both.
But I could read the Board okay and navigate through threads, as well as access everything else on the Internet, but I could not log on to post. I could see that other Board members were logged on. In the afternoon, I used someone else’s computer away from home to check, and it worked. Then I could logg in in the wee hours of this morning (Thursday morning). Then not. Now it works again.
I actually wondered whether the earthquake in the South Pacific could have been somehow responsible, but all other websites, even ones based in the US, I could get to easily. Could even log on to and post in two US-based pigeon websites. I wonder what was up with that. E-mails to the Webmaster was never answered.
Yup, it’s been fairly crappy for me, too.
I get the problems at 3-6pm here in the UK, which is 9am-12pm on your side of the pond, which goes along with it being a morning problem. But why should it be worse in the morning?
Sigh No more than 15 minutes after I wrote the above, I was once again denied the ability to post, although I was still logged on. Now it’s back again apparently … but for how long??
Yes it has been horrible and I still am frustrated by the ridiculous 300-second waiting period for the searches. This board is becoming like the office that still uses old IBM computers with giant CRT monitors and old keyboards that are yellowed with decades of use, and a printer with paper that has perforated edges on the sides.
It is getting beyond a joke. It is, as I speak, taking about three or four minutes to post or view. I’ve been very patient and uncomplaining, but I can feel the frustration bubbling up in me as I sit here and watch the tab saying ‘loading’, and then timing out. This is happening every day, usually at about this time. I also experienced problems this morning.
Could we please have an acknowledgement that the problem is being attended to, and how long it will take?
DURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Another board timeout, I just suffered. You know what, fuck this shit. I’m getting tired of this piss-poor performance and it’s utterly ridiculous that there are boards with the exact same format all over the fucking internet that run like clockwork every day and have no errors, and yet this one is always conking out, and I have to wait three hundred goddamn seconds between searches.
GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER.
The sorry state of this board’s performance is a big insult to all of the members (like me) who pay to use it.
I am now not getting email updates of new posts that I am subscribed to.
I’ve gotten more database errors than usual in the past couple of days, but nowhere near “every couple of minutes,” and nowhere near enough to cause anything but the most mild annoyance.
It makes it kind of weird to read posts by people more affected.
DURRRRRRRRR! Another wonderful Dope error! I got a blank white screen instead of the page coming up, after about two minutes of loading.
Is there ever going to be any hope of this improving? Or are the powers-that-be going to keep willfully letting this board run like a fucking shitpig of a website?
Almost every morning I start getting timeouts, and frequently sent Tuba an email. Now she’s stopped responding, so I guess I’m just another complainer. And I thought I was speschial.
