I am starting to dislike Canadians.

That’s it Canada. We’re coming for you and you don’t have your British mommy’s apron to hide behind this time. Its’ a mere matter of marching.

Don’t laugh, Mexico. You wanta piece?

Badda-boom Badda-bing Badda-bang.

Currently the US Dollar (USD) is worth 1.34750 Canadian Dollars (CAD) <–strangely appropriate–

I’ll give you a US buck if you give me 1.35 of your funny money. :sticks tongue out: mlahhh :smiley:

pfft even looks like play money

UH?
:confused:

I’m an Eastern Canadian, and I’m also Anglophone. You’re really not funny. And no, I’m not living in the USA because I wanna be American, I’m living here because my love is.

Yeesh. This is was mildly amusing before. It seems to be getting rather stupid now. Are all the latin languages garbage? or just French?

All of them!

Death to latin!

Well, I have to agree with you Exgineer. You have a very good country down there! Yes, you do, and you should feel very, very proud!

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a very busy couple of days ahead. I have take a walk down my (safe, almost firearm-free) street to go to my (paid-for-by-the-state) medical checkup.

Along the way, I’m sure to see cars with same-sex couples returning from Toronto’s gay pride event, with “Just Married” signs and tin cans hanging off the back (my congratulations to queers in the US, by the way, on winning the right to NOT be dragged out out of your home and thrown in jail for making love to your boyfriends and girlfriends!).

Maybe I’ll see some people relaxing and smoking a doobie on the way (by the way, how is that war on drugs going?)

And then it’s off to work, where I’ll happily be speaking French! I’m so glad to know another language, instead of reacting to it with prejudice and fear.

Heck, the yankee buck was worth 1.5 to our dollar a year or so ago so we’re making a comeback…

It fluctuates,so dont do the happy dance yet.

Ya know what I’m talkin’ abooot?

someone had to say it…

I thought this board was dedicated to fighting ignorance, not hate-mongering. Exengineer, you are coming across as prejudiced against Canadians. Not just the ones who have specifically done something ignorant, either, but all Canadians. Is that really how you want to present yourself here? Do you really think that all Canadians across our huge and diverse land are really the same as the louts you’ve met?

Oops, make that Exgineer.

You’d think it would be obvious that Exgineer doesn’t believe all canadians are like this, but noooo, we can’t have that. :rolleyes:

In what world does Eatern Canada=French? Heck, I live in the only bilingual province, ands it’s at best 30 percent parlez-vouz here. The rest of the eastern provinces are English. We don’t enjoy Quebec tourists much either, to tell the truth.
Or does your map stop at Quebec and leave out the three english and one half english province east of it?

I can forgive, though. I’ve spent alot of time in ND, and more importantly in SD. It’s understandable that you’re tired of your state getting made fun of and want to take a shot at some one else for a change :slight_smile:

Didn’t we give North Dakota to Canada a while back? Seems a good fit. Cold and sparsely populated. :slight_smile:

Yeah, the Desperado Plunge! I had my brown and tan 3/4 sleeve baseball shirt–“I survived the Desperado Plunge” back in 1980.

I was so cool.

Exgineer, you almost had me, but then you lost me. Relax, pick on the assholes, not the group.

lite, Mith, shut up.

Hamish, you’re not helping.

Everyone else, go to hell. Except you, you, and you. You three are okay.

I’ve liked every Canadian I’ve ever known, including the Quebecois. That said, I understand what it’s like working with tourists and how easy it is to form irritations toward certain groups.

I feel your pain…but I still like Canadians. :slight_smile:

Albany-a! Albany-a! You border on pause the pause Ad pause RI pause atic…

I’m so sorry…blame my Tourette’s…I’ll go away now…

I never met a Canadian I didn’t like. And I must have met, oh, at least 5. But one time I had a sandwich, on good bread, with nice hot mustard, and the canadian bacon was a little dry.

THE CANADIAN BACON WAS A LITTLE DRY!

Yeesh…that is the lamest anti-Canadian rant I have seen on the boards…I mean Sam the Eagle from the Muppet Show can do a better job with a hand shoved up his ass. :stuck_out_tongue:

So there’s this Newfoundlander rowing a rowboat down a stream.

<stroke> Row, row, row your boat,
<stroke> Gently down the stream,
<stroke> Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
<stroke> Life is but a dream!

Well, a couple of aliens float overhead and notice the Newfie. “What a fascinating creature,” says the one alien to the other. “Look how it goes about its business so intently!” To which the other alien replies, “let’s remove half its brain and see what happens.”

This they do, and upon being returned to his boat the Newfie promptly takes up rowing again, singing:

<stroke> Row, row, row your boat,
<stroke> Gently down the stream…
<stroke>
<stroke>

“Amazing!” says the one alien. “Let’s remove half of what’s left,” says the other.

This they do, and once again replace the Newfie in the stream, this time with but a quarter of his brain to run on.

<stroke> Row, row, row your boat…
<stroke>
<stroke>
<stroke>

“Incredible!” says the one alien. “We must, you realize, take out the rest,” says the other. “But of course,” says the first.

This they do, and replace the poor boater in the stream with a lighter, emptier cranium. Without pause he returns to rowing down the stream, happily singing:

<stroke> Alouette, gentile alouette…

Excuse me ? When did the Americans save us ? And from what ? Is there a memo floating around that I’m not aware of ? And in what fashion am I typical of French-Canadians.

Let me expand on your knowledge of derogatory terms :

Bloke, tête carrée = derogatory terms for Anglo-Canadians
Pea-soup = derogatory term for French-Canadians

And if you really want to insult a French-Canadian, tell him/her to “Speak white”. But be prepared to dislike the results.

We don’t have this fantasy. We know we’re not French, we are francophones. And among the older generation, implying this would be an insult.

And an apology to lno if I didn’t help.
