I am the copycat with the garland sent by the mercifull god

Richard: A brave and powerful ruler
Michael: Who is like God
Caffrey: ???

That one surname site posted doesn’t have Caffrey listed. Please someone help me find what my last name means…I sure hope it doesn’t mean “that will be assasinated” or else my dream of becoming president will be quickly destroyed if so! :stuck_out_tongue:

IIRC:

Andrew: knightly
Foster: keeper of the forest
Kimball: royally brave

I like it!

Here’s a link to the history of the name Caffrey. It looks like it means “horse rider”

http://www.goireland.com/genealogy/scripts/Family.asp?FamilyID=29

Ann: “Grace and mercy,” or “favored grace,” depending on the source.

Elizabeth: Again, depending on source: “God’s promise,” “God’s satisfaction,” “God’s perfection,” “Gods oath,” or “dedicated.”

Bebb: this is the best I could find: “In medieval times (when surnames were adopted), there were several given names that were commonly found among both men AND women. Thinking about it, such practices are not so uncommon today either. Bebbe was one such name. Bebb is a patronymic surname of Anglo-Saxon origin, as a variation of the given name Bebbe, which would also occur as a surname in that spelling. Bebbing is a diminutive form, and the location in Cheshire, England called Bebbington is derived from the combination of Bebbe/Bebbing + Old English tun = settlement, which described a medieval settlement headed by Bebbe or Bebbing.”

(I couldn’t find anything on my fiance’s last name: Scranton. If anyone can, please let me know!)
so… Grace, God’s promise, and medieval settlement(?). That’s me; I think I like my middle name’s meaning best.

Patrick: nobleman/knight or something like that. Also something about bravery.

Bryan (my own middle name is an offshoot of this one): also brave/strong stuff.

Uh-uh.

My first name means bee

My middle name means tired

Last name means rose tree
bee tired rose tree.

huh? what were they thinking.

First Name = Friend
Last Name = Pledge/Hostage bright

Huh?

Hmmm, interesting. The bearer born on X-mas who is light.

Sarai : From Hebrew : Evil or one who is turned away from god
Elisabette : from Elizabeth : Perfection
Spohn : ( alt. spelling : Spahn) from the German : One who dwells in a swamp or bog.

So I am evil perfection that dwells in a swamp or bog. Sums things up rather nicely

James Thomas…

James, from Jacob, the supplanter, and

Thomas, the twin (Aramaic), also the doubter, from biblical association with the apostle of the same name.

So essentially, I’m a cynical bastard just waiting to stab my twin brother in the back…even though I don’t have a twin, that I know of.

[Calvin]I am so mysterious![/Calvin]

Sigh…why couldn’t it have been something cool?

As usual, I came up bupkis on my surname. Unusual, it is. Not particularly exotic or interesting, but unusual.

I must meet this woman!

Thank you, yes! This was very helpful. Strange though…I’ve never ridden a horse before, but always thought I’d look damn good doing it!

[interesting tangent]

Ya know, since I first replied to this thread yesterday, I did alot of searching for my lineage online, and didn’t find a whole lot. However, I did find out that I may be related to the sister of Andrew Jackson’s wife…for whatever that’s worth…

[/interesting tangent]

Well, I’ve read 2 different sources for my first name. I get either “Grand” or “Powerful River” or a good lance. My middle name means merry or cheerful. My married name means Red (of hair or face, usually). My maiden name doesn’t come up at all, but I’m not suprised.

So, arranging the meanings to suit myself, it means that I’m a cheerful, red, grand, powerful river. Bwaa-hahaha…
