I beat teh coronavirus!

I got my first negative result today (from Tuesday’s test) since July 3. I got tested today and should know the results of that one on Saturday. Then I’ll have two consecutive negative tests and can consider myself virus-free for the first time in nearly three weeks.

Congrats! How was it? I saw Tom Hanks on Colbert and he said his symptoms vs. his wife’s…

Oh, that’s good news @cochrane.

I’m happy for you.

Good news!

How long is one contagious after they catch the virus? I know with the flu it’s only for three to five days. I was wondering if it’s the same for Corona?

Congrats!

I was lucky. I had very mild symptoms. A feeling of tiredness. Loss of appetite. Temperature over 100. It was never life-threatening.

You can be contagious for 10 - 14 days. That’s how long they tell you to self-isolate.

I’m glad!

Well done.

Don’t congratulate me just yet. After testing negative last Tuesday, I tested positive on Thursday. So I have to start all over, because I need two consecutive negative tests.

Sorry! Keep us posted…

Good luck, and may the Force be with you.

Wonderful!

Another positive test is wonderful? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I’m so sorry, I missed that post and had only read the OP. Best wishes!

Wow, hoping the new one’s a false positive.

Aw. Bummer. Keep positive.

:man_facepalming:

Sorry. Dumb of me!

Fingers crossed for another negative test for you, Cochrane.

When I went to my pharmacy to pick up a prescription yesterday, I saw that the drive-through had been completely converted to drive-through testing. I wondered how they could test people through the window.

When I went inside to get my scrip, I watched as a tech handed the drive-through people a kit and then gave them instructions on how to stick the swab up their own nose, get a sample, and then cork up the swab and hand it back.

Is this how you are doing your testing?

No, I couldn’t do that. For a proper result, you have to give yourself a lobotomy with the swab. At least it feels like they’re driving the swab straight into your brain.

Oh, and I am finally negative. No false alarms this time. I can now say I beat this.
