I bought my Christmas party dress today!

Wednesday after work I was going to the mall because Sean Hannity was broadcasting a live show to raise money for Habitat for Humanity and I wanted to see him. While going through the stores, I saw nice gowns that I thought would be appropriate for our office Christmas party.

$189. Hah. Like I’m going to plonk that down for a dress I probably will only wear once. (It’s not like I go to a lot of fancy parties.)

I remembered the Animal Thrift League here in town had some donated formal dresses, so I popped in there today to see what they had. Suprisingly, they had quite a few, but none that I liked or that were in my size.

An employee of my BIL (he owns a shop in our little downtown) recommended some nearby shops, so I visited the one near my BIL’s shop.

I found a lovely floor length burgundy gown with spaghetti straps and a nice appliqued flower front across the bodice and a lace up back. $69! Half off the original price!

Ivylad approved, then it was off to the mall to buy a strapless bra. The gal at um, the shop that recently had a fashion show on CBS recommended a Merry Widow type strapless number that would help hold in the old tummy as well, but it was more than the dress, and I just had to object to that on principal. I did get a nice strapless push up black bra.

I’ll need some new black pantyhose, and I’m thinking of wearing a thong just to give Ivylad something to think about at the party

This is the first new pretty dress I have bought in a long time. Maybe I really am a girl at heart, because I found I liked buying pretty new clothes and feeling sexy and pretty. I think I’m going to have to buy pretty dress up clothes more often. (And doing it at sale price is even better!)

Sounds good. I think I’m wearing work clothes to my office party. Bleh. I want to do formal Goth, it’s more fun.

Would you like some of my formal dresses? I have an unfortunate addiction to vintage and Romantic formal wear.

This is my 601th post.
