Dreaming - Blondie

A1: Why don’t you split the squares and love me instead?

Frankie Valli - My Eyes Adored You

Steve Miller Band - Swingtown

Did I get this one wrong? I very probably did, and I might have been thinking of another song.

Be back in a moment with new clues.

Er… I suppose I should make a more official guess at U11: Phish - Esther (I think).
My new clues:

“with next-door’s school every term, that is the rule”

“seem to get from me but just like a child”

“I only know what to discuss of for anything but”

Well , WTH? I’ll toss a few out there:

“…the winter looked the same as if it never had…”

“…and the first thing that I saw was a rainbow…”

“…died for somebody’s sins but not mine! Melting in…”

“…lying in the grass and she could hear the highway…”

I’ve Been In Love Before - Cutting Crew

I’ll throw in: When all faith is gone, I fight myself to carry…

And She Was – Talking Heads

And mine:

“…anger, I know your dreams. I’ve been everything you want…”

No answers, but more:

“…to be in England in the summertime with my love…”
“…like a sportscar, God I want you, like a fuel…”
“…the years went by, the times had changed, I grew…”
“…oh, he blew his lines facing the camera, he suffered…”
“…I didn’t notice but it had got very dark and…”

Thank you 42fish.

I kinda like the numbering convention started by— I don’t remember-- where everybody numbers their own with an initial. It’s easier to keep track. I was going to suggest this in the OP, but it seemed like hubris to think there’d be a bunch of replies.
Like this:

If Mr. Blue Sky adds another clue, it would be numbered MBS9. Mine would be BG5.

Sounds good?

FG9Hyperactive— Thomas Dolby.

I lurve my GTA:VC disc set.

Misty Mountain Hop - Led Zeppelin

A2: on fire don’t touch me I’m a real live wire

Dammit! I meant to include the clue:
Semaphore out on the floor messages from outer space deep

A2:on fire don’t touch me I’m a real live wire
Talking Heads’ Psyco Killer kiss kiss say.

Please don’t correct me. I know it’s French.

Hey, Biggirl? It’s French. :stuck_out_tongue:

I wouldn’t dream of correcting you. I’m just pleased someone responded to my submission. Mercy buckets.

Holy Shit! I’ve done gone made a smilie. Kill me now.

I’m thinking this is Joni Mitchell’s “Chelsea Morning,” but it’s not quite the way I remember it. Here’s what I recall:

Woke up, it was a Chelsea Morning, and the first thing that I saw
Was the sun through yellow curtains and a rainbow on the wall…"

Of course, it could be something else entirely, too, in which case, I’ll do an imitation of Emily Latella: “Never mind.”

Aside to Biggirl: I always liked these lyric games of yours. Thanks for starting another one!

ooh! ooh! “Gloria” by Patti Smith.

(what an awesome song!)

“Close to the Edit” The Art of Noise

F6: “I didn’t know you wrote such bloody awful poetry.”
