I can name that pop tune in 10 words

Tom’s Diner by Suzanne Vega

  1. Did somebody tell you you could get it from me?
  2. But he smiled to see her cry and he gave her
  3. Maybe it’s the Running Rebs, maybe it’s the Knicks

“1952 Vincent Black Lightning” by Richard Thompson. What a great, great song.

Silent Lucidity, by Queensryche

I think 152 is “Flood” by Jars of Clay

Is 180 “Bugs” be Pearl Jam? If not, I guess “Maggots are Falling” by Gwar.

I got a 152 a while back.

Biffy, you rock! Will you marry me?

I would have had it except that the real quote is:

But he smiled, to see her cry.
And said, “I’ll give you my Vincent.
To Ride.”
So all I can say is:
In my opinion, there’s nothing in this world
Beats a '52 Vincent and a Redheaded girl.

181: Hello teacher tell me what’s my lesson

“Mad World” - Tears For Fears

184: What do you do? Oh yeah, I wait tables too…

“Bohemian Like You” - Dandy Warhols

Can’t believe I got the quote wrong.:smack:

Come on home, Enginerd, all is forgiven.

Lyrics (and tab for you fingerpickers–watch the tuning) are here.

156-Goo Goo Dolls-Flat Top
176-U2-Bullet the Blue Sky

Some new ones:
188. The needle and the damage done, I don’t want…
189. I’ve known alot of girls before
190. They look at me like I’m a dog
191. But if I held the door open for you it…

“What Was It You Wanted,” Bob Dylan.

New Addition:

  1. Cast out from the jungle with no rations

Oh, 179 is “Road Movie To Berlin” by They Might Be Giants.

Two more:

  1. Give my wife my love, then nothing more
  2. I hate the way you look girl, cause you just look like hell (Tricky one)

Across the stratosphere, a final message

That Major Tom song, whoever it was by (not the David Bowie one, but the one that references it).

Isn’t this The Needle and the Damage Done, by Neil Young?

Sorry Marley23. It’s a more recent song.

I wasn’t gonna make it that easy.

Oh, and 190’s really People stare at me like I’m a dog.

Of course! The Cuba hint did it! “Driving down Highway 441 with the windows down, Beer in one hand, radio blasting” is from I’m Over You by the Silos! And no wonder I thought it was the Vulgar Boatmen. It was co-written by Boatman Robert Ray, and Walter Salas-Humara and Bob Rupe (from the Silos) were part of the Gainesville, FL contingent of the Vulgar Boatmen at one time. What awesome bands (the Boatmen and the Silos, both)! Great pick!

188 is “Understanding (in a Car Crash)” by Thursday
191 is “I’m Finding It Harder to Be a Gentleman” by the White Stripes

Thanks, dogchow. It’s been a while since I’ve gotten any.

  1. Now you ain’t got a number, you just want to
  2. We’ll all take turns, I’ll get mine too
(By the way–thank you RickJay on finally correctly guessing “Love Will Tear Us Apart” by Joy Division!)
