I find this kinda crap endlessly amusing.

Eleven politicians in New Jersey have been arrested by the FBI for taking bribes, including three mayors. Ah, the tribulations of the Garden State.

My favorite part was from the New York Times coverage of the incident:

In one case, Raymond O’Grady, a Middletown committeeman, casually dismissed an undercover agent’s question to him on tape about whether he feared being caught by the police, according to the criminal complaint. “I can smell a cop a mile away,” Mr. O’Grady bragged to the undercover agent who was taping the conversation, according to the complaint.

Mr. O’Grady was charged with taking a total of $6,000 in bribes to help the contractor get work. Mr. Christie, commenting on the case during a news conference on Tuesday, said, “Mr. O’Grady should have his olfactory senses tested immediately.”

Ten bucks says Agent Christie stayed up all night coming up with that witty barb.

I was on a road trip in a car driven by a friend of a friend who was in general a pompous ass. He had just gone on and on and on how he’d never gotten a speeding ticket, and people who get speeding tickets are stupid because alls you have to do is look for cars with light bars and slow down when you see one. People who get speeding tickets, see, are inobservant and don’t keep an eye on the traffic around them, which you always should do to be a good driver anyway and he’s a great driver, so him speeding isn’t a safety risk, and speed limits are too low anyway and blah bluh-blah bluh-blah . . .

Not 30 minutes later he got pulled over by a cop in an unmarked car. 'Twas a glorious moment.
