Well done mate. Very hard decision, especially with the kind hearted offers to provide food, but I think that’s only prolonging the decision for you. My dogs got rice and mackerel today, we’re eating together. Later today i will spend half the money I have on dog food which will last them a week - they are small - it’s only about six us dollars. They need heartworm shots and one has some nasty looking blisters, seems I need some antibacterial soap …
The one with the blisters is a rescue dog, she has god parents 
so I can go over there and dig my hand in their huge bag of dog food, if I have the gas to get over there - I don’t, or I do if I use the dog food money … arrrgh. The good news is I’m starting a new job next week and will get paid at the end of the month, otherwise I would not be far behind you. You’ve done the right thing.
