Circus Company Goes on Trial in Spy Suit
I’m not sure who to pull for. I don’t want PETA to win any lawsuits. Those whackos don’t need any reason to feel vindicated about anything. Plus they’re suing a circus. Typically absurd of PETA.
But this guy sounds legitimately shady, at least the way the article paints him. His lawyer keeps making statements like “My client didn’t do anything to harm PETA.” OK, did he do anything to PETA that didn’t harm them? Theft in the cover of darkness doesn’t usually harm anybody. Former CIA operatives like to think they learned their lesson from Watergate.
His lawyers also seem to have sandbagged the case for 5 years. OK, if you’re innocent, why all the delays? If you don’t want allegations going out that you abused elephants, why not just let PETA say whatever they want since nobody takes them seriously anyway?
This has potential for so much parody, I had to make sure it wasn’t actually an article from The Onion.
