Have you ever been reading a thread with a common theme that you just can’t relate to? I don’t mean like skydivng or something esoteric, I mean everyday ordinary stuff. In this thread ruadh is lamenting on the mother of all hangovers. Others are joining in to share the pain or recommend cures. I’d love to contribute to the thread, I drink, too much sometimes, problem is I’ve never had a hangover, ever. A lot of people find it hard to believe, but it’s true. So anyone else? Or do you have any other common experience that you can’t relate to?

Trust me, I’ve suffered through enough for the both of us, plus a few more.
I don’t get them, either. If I’m drinking with my friend Mary (who smokes, therefore I smoke too), I don’t feel so hot the next day, but I don’t have the typical nausea/headache/sensitivity to light and noise that people with hangovers get. I just feel a general sense of ICK.
Although I have to say, the ONE time I threw up from drinking too much (I can’t even say Rumpleminze without–horrrrrrrrrrk!–gagging), I felt like I’d been kicked in the stomach for the next four days.
I actually find it kind of interesting the way different people react to alcohol, and the fact that each of us can react differently to beers, spirits and wines.
For myself, I don’t think I’ve ever had a hangover as such, but I found alcohol tended to just wipe my memory! Not so much spirits - I can knock back any amount and feel next to nothing. But beers and wine… lots of tiredness and no memory the next day.
That’s one reason I quit.
Yes, I have those issues too, Ianzin. Beer makes me lethargic. Wine and Champagne make me feel an incredible amount of affection for everyone in the room. Tequila makes me think I’m God (or Shaft, depending upon what I’m wearing).
Now that I can relate to. I have different personalities depending on the drink.
Wine: Can’t drink it it gives me heartburn in seconds.
Beer: da da da dahhh - Lazy Man!
Clear Acohols: Energizer Bunny (I always stick to gin or vodka if I plan to dance)

Note to self: keep champagne on hand in case auntie em visits

Which brings me back to the OP - except in this one case, I just can’t relate when guys talk about chicks.

As far as drinking goes, I rarely drink, and I’ve only been drunk a handful of times because it takes a whole lotta alcohol to get me there. And I’ve never had a hangover.
As far as other threads go, I can’t relate to many things people post about. This is probably why my post count is so low.
It’s been said of me, “Give Spooky champagne and she’ll do anyone.”
Problem is, it’s kinda true!
