Okay, maybe the other thread was too complicated for a first effort. Let’s try something simpler and work our way up.
Three people already ruined it (I’d love to know who they are and their explanations). And unlike the other one, we’ll now never reach the goal no matter how many people vote for 100% only, or at least until it rounds off to 100% and 0%.
My original plan was to only have one poll option (100%). That would have been pretty much idiot-proof (although it never pays to underestimate the perversity of idiots). But it turns out you have to have at least two options on a poll.
Now there are 7 votes for 0%, which means we need at least 140,001 total votes (7/140,001 = 0.0049%, or 0%, assuming rounding to the nearest 0.01%, same for 100%).
Hahaha! Little Nemo, you are my hero.
Well, it is 8-8. So, depending on how you read the instructions, this could be spot on (50%-50%) or so completely hosed that you could never get the 100% - 0% I believe the OP was looking for.
I did not vote. I wanted to look at the answer to see how obedient everyone was… Apparently, not much at all.
Oh c’mon. In the context of the last thread this thread only invites thumbing at it.
You should have made it public, so we could string up the rebels who refuse to play nice.
We need an even simpler poll to do this.
There’s no option for cake. Isn’t there usually a cake option on these things?
Should I look at the results first, and then vote?
Dude. Let it go.
How many more votes do we need in each category to get this right?
we have a perfect 50/50 tie. We did it!
Huh?
This message was posted when the results were as follows:
100% - 35 votes
0% - 30 votes
We can still do it if we get 599,936 more people to vote 100%. That way we’ll have a total of 599,966 people for 100% and 30 people for 0% - an all total of 60,001 voters. This will result in a the 0%'s percentage of voters being 0.004999916668055532% leading to the real percentage just dropping to 0%.
