they where mad becaue i drink and stay out all night it was not supposted to be like this ow i feel bad for hurting both my mothers:smack:
Aside from “Quit Drinking,” take these next few months to be the absolute BEST (PSEUDO)DAUGHTER you can be! Help out with chores, make sure you’re always home on time, and if you’re going to be late, call IMMEDIATELY!, Study hard and do everything in your power to show that you can be trusted by both your mothers. Unfortunately, a lot of damage has been done in terms of how these people view you, so just help make that vision of you out in the street dissapear (or at least become something that everyone can look back and laugh about when they think of your “wild and crazy days”).
The tattoo is perminant (unless you can save up to get it removed either by laser or acid treatment, which in some places is free if you look around), but that’s something people will get used to.
The hair will grow back, but who knows? You may like the short due once it grows on you (one quick question…did you keep it? Or at least a little bit? I always find it amazing when people with extraordinarily long hair cut it and never save some. I just think it’d make a rather neat momento, you know?)
And, yes, cut out the drinking. I don’t have a good gague on your age, but I’m guessing you’re still in high school. You’ll come to find out when you get older, it ain’t all that cool, so hey, learn your lesson now. In time, learn to enjoy the occassional social drink or two, but especially for now, stick to plain old coke or Mr. Pibb.
And again, be helpful around the house, stay straight in your behavior, and in a few weeks, things should be better. best of luck!
I’m going to guess that you are rather young and will base my advice on that assumption:
You have done something very stupid. Learn from it. Don’t do it again.
As number 1 said, learn from it; but don’t dwell on it. Let it go. Learn to forgive yourself. It was very stupid, but in the overall scheme of things you haven’t really added to the world’s evils.
Aplogize and mean it.
I’m not going to tell you to quit drinking. I don’t have enough information to do that. I’m going to tell you that if you can’t drink responsibly, then quit. You got lucky, your first stupid thing did not cost any lives. But foolish drinking to excess is not the same as social drinking. I am going to say that you should not drink if you are underage.
yes i am young. But the problem is that i am a forgein exchange student and well if rotarty finds out i will have to go back to brazil. see in brazil there isnt an age on drinking well u can be young but still i wooried.
So what if you are sent back to Brazil? Why would that be so bad? You have really put your host family in a bad position anyway. Perhaps it would be best if you do return home.
Well, don’t take this the wrong way, but you’re not IN Brazil. No matter who or what you are, always try to obey the local laws. If you’re underage, you could have been locked up. A police record this early in life is a helluva lot worse than any tattoo or bad haircut will ever be.
[old man mode on] And you’ll get a bad reputation…[/old man mode off]
OK, what you did was dumb, but it was a mistake. Apologise, PROFUSELY if necessary. Promise never to do it again (and mean it).
I think in general, Rotary won’t send you home unless you did something REALLY REALLY bad, because it costs money, and the clubs involved lose face to a certain extent. If they can see that you just made a mistake and have learned from it, they will probably be willing to let you stay. As far as I can see, the only Rotary rule you’ve broken is the no drinking rule (and now you know why that’s there!). The other things you did are arbitrary rules from your families; they don’t involve Rotary at all.
But you should do everything in your power to not be sent home. Trust me, you will look back on your year as an exchange student as one of the best experiences of your life. Good luck!
Expierimentation at your age isn’t new. Drinking and urineating all over the town isn’t news to anyone who has soed their wild oats. Cutting your hair isn’t the end of the world. Tattoos aren’t the end of the world. And pissing mom off isn’t new news for anyone your age.
I say enjoy your youth and live life to the fullest. I’m not saying be irresponsible. Responsibility comes with age and expierence.
If I were a foriegn exchange student I would go hog wild. And yes dopers I am speaking from experience. I do hope that you learn something from this and make choices that will benefit you in the free world. (Not saying that you haven’t been doing so already.)
Life isn’t always a game so keep your pen well inked and buckel down to what is important.
Snugglebear, that’s dumb. Everyone who cooperated in getting sweetsensation to the US was sold a bill of goods about how responsible and intelligent and mature she is. Now, to her (former, according to the Pit thread) host family, it must look like hogwash. She was a guest in their house, and is still a guest in this country. Her behavior was rude.
Although it wouldn’t surprise me to find that the drinks she had at “western’s homecoming” were purposely made very strong, by someone who thought it would be funny to see the cute exchange student get loaded. sweetsensation, please take note. Young men in Brazil may be gentlemanly, but bad things happen to young girls in America who get drunk and out of control. You got a haircut and a tattoo. You’re lucky that you didn’t get raped.
That’s just about as far as I think you should go in this forum, ** foolsguinea**. In fact, it might a little to far. Please phrase your criticisms more tactfully in the future.
