I Decided To Start This Week's MMP

Up, caffeinated, off to work.

Good morning!! I woke up unaided for no apparent reason, so I guess I’d had enough sleep.

Not sure what the day holds - it’s supposed to be relatively mild and I have 2 things from my mom that really need to be planted, so maybe I’ll tend to that. Otherwise, dunno what I’ll do. Tomorrow will be more cooking and baking before the trip. And packing. And the pet sitter is coming over to get the keys.

I supposed I could clean my desk…

^ Look - I made a joke!!!

Happy Tuesday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 47 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 78 for the day. Yes, I am up now on a day off. I got up just like I would on an irk day cause, well, tomorrow will be an irk day. Plus also, I put a whole chikin on to boil for chikin ‘n dressin’. ‘Tis now coolin’ off. Go Me!

Plans for the day include the makin’ of said chikin’ ‘n dressin’ to go in da freezer for Turkey Day, makin’ death chikin for dindin, and makin’ some chawklit chip pee-kahn cookies cause MOOOOOOM done flung a cravin’ on me.

Grump since fart blossoms are harvested from Satan’s own garden, they are indeed little balls of hell.

red sounds like neither one of us would have problems passin’ an “emissions test.”

sari don’t do what I did earlier. I walked down to the mailbox to get the paper and put some mail in the box. I then walked all the way back up the driveway just to turn around and go back to the mailbox to get the mail out cause, ummm… Veterans Day = national holiday = no mail today. :smack:

I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. I should also purtify somewhat just cause I should. If’n I am to spend the day bein’ a happy homemaker I should look the part. :stuck_out_tongue: I don’t look good in pearls and heels so I’ll just do the best I can.

Happy Tuesday Y’all! Happy Veterans Day to all the Veteran Mumpers!

Today’s going to be the last warm day of the year in the high country. I have called it. (After looking at the week ahead on Weatherbug, that is. The precipitation is about to get real.)

I just looked at the 10-day forecasts for here and Ocala. We’re going to a relatively mild week, then returning just in time for freezing rain. Oh joy!

To all who have served, thank you!

Today’s the day to see the girly doc again. With any luck, I can get rid of the hardware and go home to my house. Of course, I’ll miss having a chihuahua being attached to my left hip. :stuck_out_tongue:

I always liked fart balls (as they were known in my childhood home, at least when Mum wasn’t in earshot). Shame I’m rubbish at growing them.

I’m trying to be all domesticated again, and bakin’ bread. Hopefully it’ll be better than the last lot- I put too much sweetener in, and it tasted weird.

It’s soggy and cold, and I have no irk, so there’s not a lot else to do. I may chutnify something later, or make soup, or attempt a sweet NOT pie. Or attempt all of the above in a sort of octopus multitasking manner.

One of these days, I’m going to be daring and try to make bread sans bread machine. Maybe. I lurves me some freshly baked bread, and I have some really yum bread machine recipes. Is hand-kneaded bread that much better?

Overcast and dreary out there today. Maybe some sun later. Meanwhile, I should probably try to accomplish something. Right? To prove I’m not a total slug…

Not sure hand kneaded bread is much better tasting- it’s probably better for you though, 'cos you burn off half the calories kneading the stoopit stuff.

Yeah, but to get out the bread machine, I have to empty half of a cabinet… on my knees. Then I have to get up, pick up the machine, carry it 8 whole feet to the other side of the kitchen, then haul down the bag of flour from the top pantry shelf. Plus opening the fridge to fetch an egg. And pawing thru the spice cabinet for, um, spices and stuff. And walking to the sink for water. And there’s the reach alllllllll the way across the counter to the outlet. That seems to be a pretty rigorous workout, yanno??

Especially when I add the vigorous sighing and stuff.

We have a breadmaker. I love bread made in it, though we haven’t done it in a while.

I think I’ll head downtown in a bit. There are a couple of things I’d like to do there.

Oh yeah, I have organized the green guest room, cramming some things in the closet and sliding some things under the bed. One box of books has been covered with a plastic bag and it now serves as a plant stand for the 3 spider plants that I’ve brought in from the front steps. The window is locked, but I’ve opened the curtain a little bit to permit some afternoon sun to shine on the plants.

While I was organizing, I discovered that I’m missing the V book in the Sue Grafton series - guess I need to order it. We don’t want an incomplete alphabet!

**FCD **is continuing his work on my sister’s scooter. It’s looking good - not something I’d want, but he still does nice work. I think she’ll like it.

And so it goes…

buh - lerf!

Chikin ‘n dressin’ is all made up. I’m lettin’ it get all cooled down before stickin’ it in da freezer. I have also put together death chikin in a casserole for bakeage later. I have four dozen regular chawklit chip cookies made. The first of the chawklit chip pee-kahn cookies are bakin’ as I post. There shall also be four dozen of those. When they’re all done and cool enough, Ima take some to OYKW’s orifice as a surprise. Hence the cookies sans pee-kahns in case there’s some with a nut (NON) allergy.

Just slap a string of pearls on me and call me June Cleaver!

You can’t be June Cleaver without a frilly apron, too!

Frankly, swampy, I see multi color glass beads as more your style. Or something earthy and bearish.

I’ve never made bread in a machine but back in the dippy hippy years with kids in the house, I made all of our bread for a long time. As a single diabetic, I find that the bakery at the Kroger sto’ suffices.

I had to explain “death casseroles” to a friend earlier this year. Apparently they are not a New England thing!

Back from cookie deliverage. The cookies were much appreciated as opposed to “appreciated.” Also, had an early N.O.L. with OYKW which was a nice surprise for me. Nuttin’ special, we went to Subway.

I had to explain death chikin to folks in OYKW’s orifice. See, as mentioned above OYKW suggested we go grab some N.O.L. I said sure but nuttin’ too big as we’re havin’ death chikin for supper. Natch, that raised a few eyebrows and an explanation was called for. OYKW also told everybody that I learned about this from some strange, dark place on the internet. A perfect description of the Dope is it not?

I have sweet N.O.T. bakin’ away now to be turned into sweet N.O.T. casserole which will also go into da freezer and reappear at Turkey Day. A couple may get re-warmed for dindin.

Death chickin, peas 'n carrots, sweet N.O.T., and rolls sounds good together, right?

red I am wearin’ a gray tshirt, blue plaid pj bottoms, white socks and my robe. That sound more like me?

Is that how you dressed to go out in public?? Do you want to get your FAAAAAAAAABULOUS Card revoked?!?!?

I just watched Frank Oz’s remake of The Stepford Wives. It was stupid. Don’t bother. I’m now having lunch. Dunno what’s next. Ah, retirement!!

Ummm, no, no your not!
