A while back I started an IMHO thread, soliciting eyebrow piercing stories and opinions on my possibly getting one. A lot of people said no, I shouldn’t, a lot of people said yeah, go for it, and a lot of people said, “if you have to ask, then no.”
Well, I did it!
I originally had it done back in March, over my spring break, but I didn’t say anything back then because I didn’t have pictures, and I wanted pictures. Good thing, though, because it was a shoddy-ass piercing job and it grew out completely in less than two weeks. So last weekend I went to a different place (the Ultimate Body Jewelry company at Irondequoit Mall in Rochester, because their piercers are the guys who used to be Primitive Impressions, somewhere else in Rochester, which is where my best friend got her big ear piercing). It was a much better experience this time, and the piercing itself is much deeper and more firmly anchored, so it shouldnt’ grow out so fast this time.
I love it, really. I am immensely pleased with my final decision (although I’m sure my grandmother won’t be. ), and I wanted to share, since you guys gave me your opinions.
I have to turn away when I pass people like that. Same as if they have a major scar or burn, because I don’t want them to see me shudder. If figure they have enough problems.
Why am I not surprised to see ‘BANNED’ under Chaventh’s name?
Here’s an idea - (not being sarcastic) - Why don’t mods not ban obvious trolls instantly. That way, the dopers can verbally destroy the troll while he/she is still here. Ending his/her trollish ways.
I say ‘Ending’ and not ‘hoping to end’ because I am convinced that amongst the thousands of dopers there are at least one or two who can destroy any troll.

I’m hoping to get pierced this summer; either the navel piercing my husband owes me or an industrial (it’s the bar across the top of her ear in the pic).

XJETGIRLX - I have been by the BME site a couple of times, back when I was considering getting my tongue pierced (decided against it}, when I was considering this one, and after it grew out the first time. My only other piercings are the 4 in my ears, one in each lobe and two cartilage on the left, which were all done at an ear-piercing place in the mall. I’m considering maybe getting an industrial or something else in my right ear this summer, since the piercings on my left side now outnumber those on the right 4 to 1.
moi - I was considering getting an industrial for a while, and am still thinking about it. I like them alot and I’d say go for it.
Looks great. Though not applicable to your case let me say I love eyebrow piercings on guys. I also see it as the least obstrusive facial piercing besides an earring or little nose stud.
Personally, the unobtrusiveness of it is what I dislike. Or at least makes me appreciate it a little less than some other piercings. But don’t let me rain on your parade, Antares, I still think it looks good, and certainly if it’s the look you want, I’m happy for you. Glad to see that you figured out what you wanted to do without relying too much on the opinion of others.
BTW, I didn’t really mean “unobtrusive” like “makes you look the least untrustworthy” or some other such foolishness. I really meant something more on the order of, integrates itself best into the facial structure or something along those lines.
