I went out on the boat last night with Mr. Hawk and I didn’t get seasick! I felt a little queasy at first, but I got those pressure point armbands (in sophisticated yet understated black) and even managed to eat. Which was nice because the food was great. I got dents in my arms, but it was worth it.
Of course, it may be that the SWATH ship is just so stable that I wouldn’t have gotten sick anyhow, but I’m glad I didn’t have to find out the wrong way. They sailed it from Florida to Honolulu, playing touch and go with a hurricane and it didn’t roll more than 7 degrees. Nice boat.
So thank you, Scotticher, for suggesting the armbands! You saved by butt… er, stomach.
Oh, and Rilchiam, my friend Pat wore her shawl and looked tres chic, but I’m glad I didn’t have to juggle a plate, a cup, the ship’s stairs and a shawl, too. I never woulda made it. I will have to count on my armbands for sophistication.
Yaay! Glad you managed to get through it. After what I went through with FriendBill, I was ready to swear off everything but the North Ferry from now on.
If I’m invited back next summer, I’m gonna take Dramamine, or look into an armband. Are they 'spensive?
You are entirely welcome, honey!
I am so glad you had such a good time…I feel for you, as I absolutely LOVE being on the open water and NEVER get seasick…I just hate to think of anyone not being able to enjoy the sea the way that I do.
And thanks for welcoming my friend, too. You are a dollface!
Dave, I was gonna check the armbands today when I went to the store for bunny food, but I forgot. I’m pretty sure they were less than 10 bucks, though. Just two knitted bracelets with plastic buttons in them. You’ve got to have a pair.
And you’re welcome Scotti, the more the merrier. Glad your friend is here.
I’ve got to have a pair if I’m going to go sailing more frequently than I have, which to date has been, what? once every 43 years?
Ehhh, I’ll consider it, though.
No, I meant if you use them, they come in a pair. I don’t know if one would do you any good. Give me enough advance notice and I’ll lend you mine.
