This refers to, I believe, to a Cialis commercial for erectile dysfunction. Its big pitch is that you can take the pill and still be ready to sex up your chosen anytime in the next several hours. The series of ads put couples in intimate situations where it is clear they can’t have sex RIGHT NOW. For instance, one has a couple getting cozy and then the in-laws drop by.
I would guess this is poking fun at that commercial for presenting the couple an easily surmounted barrier to having sex RIGHT NOW.
Yes, I was guessing it had something to do with ED drugs. I haven’t seen the bathtub commercial, but based on a very quick google search, it looks like the original commercial is quite stupid. Thank you for the explanation.
The separate tubs shot from the boner pills ads have been the butt of stand up comics for years now. It’s just a pop culture shorthand for “stupid commercial idea that doesn’t stand up to logical examination” now. It has taken the place of Jerry Seinfeld’s classic “if you have blood stains on your clothes, maybe laundry shouldn’t be your top concern right now.”
D18, don’t feel bad, I read that one this morning and didn’t get it either. Probably because I don’t watch Cialis commercials. Thanks all, for the explanation.
