I don’t think that you do. You seem to be either confusing it with APD or labouring under the idea that most sociopaths are criminals. In fact, they’re all among us. Think how many gay friends you have. Then divide that number by 4. That’s how common reasonably succesful people with sociopathic traits are.

I think that sociopathy in politicans is probably the norm rather than the exception.

This is if you see sociopathy as a spectrum, a bit like atusim. The politican sociopaths are the Aspergers to the Ted Bundy Autists.

Compare Libya to Iraq, OP. Deposed dictators both places, no? Drastically different downsides though.

The fact is that Khaddafi’s army would have blasted the shit out of Benghazi if Obama had not made the decision to bomb their hardware. Obama saved tens of thousands of lives involving our Air Force in a war in Libya. Even if the Benghazi situation turns out to be a fuck-up, the overall results in the Libyan theater are a roaring success. Even without comparing it to Iraq.

Seriously, though, I have no problem, as an ER nurse, believing that someone can be dispassionate, while caring a great deal, about a string of dead soldiers that stretches back to your days in the Senate on the one hand, and being moved to tears at a moment of personal accoplishment and validation on the other.
