This is hilarious. You have a very strong Canadian accent. I’d have known you were Canadian inside of ten seconds of meeting you even if I hadn’t already been aware of the fact beforehand.
I don’t understand why people state that they don’t have accents. Yes, you do. Everyone has an accent! Sheesh. It’s not an insult.

I was born in the midwest (Indiana) to midwestern parents (Illinois & Michigan). I grew up in upstate New York and east-central Florida. It used to amuse my dad to ask new friends “what kind of accent do my kids have?” Got all kinds of answers, none of which included anywhere we were from.
Okay, have we firmly established now that most Canadians don’t actually say “aboot”? The only time I hear it even slightly is from people in Ontario - the rest of Canada, not so much. Can we fight the ignorance on this topic, please? (But we do all say “eh,” frequently. That one’s a fair cop.)
