Speaking from the perspective of a 17 year old, I say we give him a nice fair trial with competent representation, then if he’s found guilty, kill him in the most horrible way possible. Or maybe just torture him to near death, then nurse him back to health so we can do it again. Repeat as needed.

WTF??? I’ve heard of 17 year olds having sex with 15 year olds that have gotten much worse than that!!! (The legal consent age in Mich. is 16, not 18)
The death penalty would be too easy. I’ve heard that (I don’t think I need to cite this) prisoners HATE molesters, so let that little fuck rot in jail and get gang raped every day for the rest of his life. Only that could be close to enough punishment.
And, BTW, I think that someone that could do something that horrific at the young age of 17 is only on the road to more horrible crimes, so lock him up (with the rape hungry prisoners) and throw away the key. JMHO.

As noted, the 17 year old has indeed been charged with only one count of Sexual Battery. However, prosecutors have not ruled out adding additional charges, and hope to charge him as an adult. no word on the baby’s condition:(
I had a foster sister and brother (biological siblings, themselves) who came to my house at the ages of 18 months and a little over 2 years. Both of them had been sexually molested (by their father, I’d assume) before coming to my parents’ house, but because of their youth they couldn’t actually come right out and testify, so the case never made court. They were sent back to live with their mom and dad last fall.
After that, NOTHING surprises me. Not even this.
