I don't know why I bother

-reading my mail. I haven’t had a personal letter for months…except a few christmas cards
-answering the phone. It’s almost never for me. and if it is…it’s more often someone I don’t know than someone I do

Ike:
Fahey and Kottke are, by now, distiguishable. Fahey tends to play on his lap, uses his left hand less.but effectively.should we start a great debate?

Wow, your phone actually rings ?
That is so cool.

  • saying this, being an ignorant philistine and all, but I heard Leo Kottke for the first time on PHC a few weeks ago, and his rendition of “Eight Miles High” was incredible. I wish I had taped that show. I’m never going to be able to listen to the Byrds’ version again.

As long as this is going to develop into a Leo Kottke thread I’ll have to put in my two cents. The only other online forum I regularly participate in is the Kottke Newsgroup and we had a lengthy Fahey/Kottke discussion a while back. Some of us (myself included) rank Leo way ahead of Fahey. Others were more generous and rated them about the same. Since it was a Kottke group it was unlikely Leo would finish second.

I was beginning to think that something I shouldn’t bother with was trying to drum up some interest in Leo Kottke on this message board. This is the first time anyone (other than me, that I know of) has mentioned him.

Hmmm … think I’ll start a new thread just to see who’s heard of him.
