I can’t remember if I’ve ever said that to anyone before, except for maybe when I was a petulant child.
But as adults, it seems like when we don’t like another person, we just casually keep our distance from them, and don’t take it upon ourselves to tell them that we don’t like the other person. I don’t remember anyone saying it to me, recently. Of course I’m a very likable guy so that’s not much of a surprise.
Anyhow, what say you? Do you ever tell people that you don’t like “I don’t like you”?
Sometimes I say this to my husband. When he knows I am upset he sometimes pesters me and won’t let it go. When this coincides with me not being ready to talk about it, because I am still angry, I say, ‘I don’t like you right now!’ The, ‘but I still love you!’, being implied.
Why, yes, I do sound like a petulant child, but I’ve learned that’s better than launching into something while I am still blistering mad. Lesser of two evils, I suppose.
