I don't think Aaron Shock (R-IL) is going to survive the endless scandal news

Aaron Shock, of the solidly Republican 18th district of Illinois, isn’t going to survive the constant scandal reporting. I believe he will be forced to resign his seat.

It’s been quite interesting to watch. He’s been a movie celebrity, with his appearances on Men’s Health and strong gay rumors. He’s been seen as an up and comer in the party.

But, this year has been a disaster. It started with him firing an aid for posting racist comments on Facebook. Then, the stories of his office being redecorated in Downton Abbey style. Those stories have been followed with even more reports of outlandish spending including concert tickets to Katy Perry, private planes, and a $75,000 car.

There’s no way he’ll survive

Bolding mine. I don’t know much about Rep. Shock but I predict he will survive. The bar is set necessarily low for congressmen no matter what their political affiliation, so after a few mea culpa’s and the requisite radio/TV appearances blaming the media all will be forgiven.

I don’t know. That Katy Perry thing will stick.

Don’t forget selling his $255k house to his political donors for $925K.

Plus there’s that huge zit/ingrown hair thingy on his Adams Apple ( scroll down to 2nd picture). You’d think they’d have Photoshopped that out. Your eyes immediately focus on it. He should resign just for that. :stuck_out_tongue:

Its a microhicky. The kids are doing that these days.

It all comes down to how it plays in Peoria. I could see him surviving if something doesn’t rise to the level of prompting criminal charges, but I’m not a voter in Peoria.

What difference does his alleged sexual orientation make?

He’s a Republican.

Politically he’s anti-gay, so it’s hypocritical.

I just noticed that I misspelled Rep. Schock’s last name in my first post. My apologies.

At first, I thought he’d just cut himself shaving.

Then, I realized that I was looking at a Republican website, and finally understood that joke, “if I die, delete my browser history.”

Cite that he’s politically anti-gay, please.

Like I said, he’s a Republican.
Don’t like the first cite? Ok.

Straight from the horse’s [del]mouth[/del] ass.

From his Wikipedia entry:

Moderately anti-gay, by Republican standards.

Neither one of those “cites” are legitimate, and you’re hurting my browser.

Maybe he just believes, correctly, that so-called hate crime laws are silly pandering.

Is this a legitimate cite?

Not every member of the GOP supports every part of the platform. Where is the cite that the Congressman himself is anti-gay?
