It’s funny because of a lot of this board is losing it’s fucking mind. And the over the top hyperbolic rhetoric you retards are spouting.
“Oh Trump is going start WW3 and launch nukes at everybody because, because, he’s evil so of course he is evil and is going to nuke the planet into obliteration.”
“Oh Trump is evil, because of course he is, and he’s going to murder every brown person.”
“Oh Trump is so evil, because of course he is, that he is going use the military to force every single woman in America line up so he can grab their pussies.”
“Oh Trump is so evil, because of course he is, that he is single handily all on his own, even though he doesn’t have that power as President, going to over turn Roe v. Wade and gay marriage and make abortions illegal and deport every non-white male.”
Oh Trump is so evil, because of course he is, that he is single handily all on his own, even though he doesn’t have that power as President, going to replace every member of the Supreme Court with KKK members."
For the smartest and hippest people on the planet you retards sure don’t know how government works.
Hell no. The same people who burned their Dixie Chicks t-shirts and still refuse to play their music are the ones posting all the Anti Obama memes all over FB, etc.
Seriously, are you sure you’re an American? You don’t see this and you don’t see racism. Wherever you are, we should switch places.
Hold up there chicken little. The VP doesn’t nominate Supreme Court justices, the president does. And the old justices either have to die or retire first with the new justices confirmed afterwards. Once that happens, an actual challenge to Roe vs. Wade has to make its way through the lower courts all the way to the Supreme Court. That entire process will take years. I’m sure someone will have invented birth control pills, condoms or a surgical procedure referred to as a vasectomy by then.
Why do you think Omg A Black Conservative is not really black?
The histrionics-- the meltdown-- is much better than anything I could have every imagined. I keep bringing it up, but need I remind you of 2012? Liberals everywhere were delighting in the pain us conservatives felt as the idiot in chief was given the greenlight to continue to destroy this country.
Yeah, I wasn’t delighting in anyone’s pain in 2012, you sociopathic piece of shit.
Everything I have is owned outright by me. I have zero debt and a hefty retirement stash. The only losers in this election are those who don’t have that advantage. I can only hope that it includes fucktards like you, who I sincerely hope loses everything you have when it all goes south.
You’re not wrong about that. It’d be fantastic if we could acknowledge as a country that not everybody votes for a candidate for the same fucking reason.
I asked someone yesterday, a hold-yet-nose Trump voter who I dearly love and respect, what will happen when Obama leaves office and had never taken a single gun. She said nothing. No one will say they were wrong and no one will apologize for brushing with broad strokes and accusations of nanny-stating. He will be viewed just as negatively as he’s been painted without a single shred of evidence that he’s done anything to deserve it. And it has me unbelievably confused. Can anyone explain that attitude to me?
‘‘I need to believe that everything the opposing side does is evil and that everything my side does always has wonderful consequences because if I don’t believe this, the resulting cognitive dissonance will send me into frothing convulsions. I would rather believe all of these things are true than address the internal conflict and adjust my narrative to fit reality.’’
Actually, it’s probably more about saving face than cognitive dissonance. You’re not supposed to show chinks in your armor to the opposing side because then people are less likely to join you.
The way the American system has been going these last few elections, the margins are so close that if even 10% of a candidate’s votes are for stupid reasons, that can carry the day. It’s not great certainly, and I’m confident 10% is particularly low in Trump’s case.
The notion of black conservatives causes many liberals a lot of cognitive dissonance. Because if conservative policies and conservative people were as bigoted as they prefer to believe, then there shouldn’t be any black conservatives.
But a lot of other liberals were. Many on this very MB. Out of curiosity, did you have the same view of them as you express here?
Well, that’s silly. I guess it would really blow their minds to know that the dude who taught my course on institutional racism in graduate school was a black conservative.
I don’t remember anything about the 2012 election. I don’t have a high opinion of those who mock others’ pain. I think people who take out their pain on other people indiscriminately are weak.
Do we all have ugly moments? For sure. I’d say accusing half of America of misogyny and racism is pretty ugly, and I’ve probably done it at least once in expressing my anger on behalf of the people I know who will be most affected by this outcome. But I’d put my posting history up against Omg’s any day for rational, respectful discourse. I’ve never seen him contribute anything but negativity and nastiness. And he just mocked my pain when I explicitly told him I wasn’t among those who mocked his, so exactly how the fuck does anyone expect me to feel about him?
Any contribution I have in the aftermath of an election, at least once I get over the initial emotional reaction, is the post-mortem. In 2012, it was how have Republicans fucked themselves and will they be able to get their shit together? In 2016, it’s how have Democrats fucked themselves and will we be able to get our shit together? I’m more inclined to blame my own party for this loss. So yeah, we fucked it up. Getting our shit together is all I really care about at this point.
Seriously, though, if you’re, say, a person on the ACA, with illness you couldn’t afford to treat otherwise, and a voter came up to you and basically said, hi, I voted to strip all that away from you because either you deserve to die or I don’t really care what happens to you or so I can make more money, how are you NOT supposed to be slightly peeved at that person, at the least? Who the hell is going to smile and say, thank you, I respect your opposing point of view?
Everyone knows that there are some black conservatives IRL. (Aka “Uncle Toms” to hard-core leftists.) Still, if it’s a guy on a MB it’s easier to just claim he’s not really black.
Here’s a thread from 2012 along those lines. You may not remember it now, but you posted in it at the time.
[The OP of that thread thought it worked out so well that he figured he would try it again this time around. Of course, that was when he thought Clinton was going to win. When that didn’t happen, the thread fizzled out.]
