Don’t bother engaging Drunky in a conversation. He’s like a mouse,he runs a few feet, drops a turd, runs a few more feet, drops another turd, etc. No one takes his opinion seriously.
He does seem to have gotten more shrill lately. I guess the “comically contrarian” shtick wasn’t working, so he moved to “deliberately offensive contrarian”.
I’ll go with the simplest possible explanations…
He’s a Dem.
He’s not a hard core right winger.
He’s not a bible thumper
But most of all
He’s a nigger. – And I bet for too many people including Trump, who fathered and kept pushing the “Birther movement” THIS s probably THE answer.
There was a nigger in the WHITE house. Prove me wrong.
some one said we just voted "Nixon 2.0 in and were going to go back to the anti egghead rome is burning 70s in which the cities will party to death while the outside world goes ot hell "
Take a look at the 2016 GOP convention. How many black delegates? There were probably more blacks on stage than on the floor, since the GOP showcases their few blacks just to give the impression that they’re more racially enlightened than they are.
For-instances, please? I really don’t recall much ‘suck on it, conservatives!’ going on here after the 2012 election. Just relief that we wouldn’t have what we have now - a government with no brake on the GOP.
Sounds like a disservice to Nixon, who’d been a Senator and Vice-President. Trump’s more like a crude inarticulate version of Reagan, and even that’s overstating Trump’s qualifications for the office.
That’s pretty much it. He’s been exposed in the past as a lying troll.
There are plenty of Black conservatives. This causes no cognitive dissonance. Black Americans tend to vote Democratic not because they are, as a group, overwhelmingly liberal, but because republicans are the party of white racists. Impossible to deny after this election, unless you’re a lying troll like OMG or you’re dumb as a doorknob.
Got a link?
This morning it occurs to me that the perverse glee from the right in the U.S. will be short-lived in any case. They lit the fuse a long time ago, and in the next four years they’ll realise that the bomb was sitting in their lap the whole time.
The biggest problem is that a lot of innocent people will suffer as well.
Oh, heh, sorry… you were talking about the OP.
Incidentally, I’m about to watch Samantha Bee’s post-election show. I sure hope it’s not thirty minutes of the camera on her corpse, with a suicide note in one hand and an empty pill bottle in the other.
Sam - if you’re still alive, is it too late to get your kids Canadian passports? We’ll gladly take you and Jason back! #Canadawelcomesblue
I linked to one such thread in post #120. But here’s another couple:
[Spice Weasel, who today is opposed to mocking others’ pain - and called someone a “sociopathic piece of shit” for engaging in it - and doesn’t remember the 2012 election, posted in that thread too, to say that she too was addicted to schadenfreude, which is “even better than the election”.]
Ha, ha–Ann Romney has to go home and spend her millions now!
There are any number of options for your response; feel free to try any of them that appeal to you.
Are you fucking shitting us? If he was worried about people hurting him, he wouldn’t have posted this in the Pit. He’s just a fucking troll. Words can’t hurt him.
BigTard, indeed.
It’s fair to say I underestimated the intensity of the pain conservatives were feeling, and I have more empathy now than I did then. This election was a pretty massive wake up call for me that the political divide in this country is in fact fueled by a lack of empathy on all sides. And I am ashamed for my part in it.
One of the first things I did after the election was reach out to the Trump voter closest to me and ask her to talk me down off the ledge. And she did. Because even though I didn’t understand what she was going through, I was there for her in 2012. But it’s fair to say my feelings about this election are less about politics and more about life with PTSD. After a while, you learn to sort the intellectual wheat from the emotional chaff and carry on.
ETA: And stop created a goddamn false equivalence, FP. There’s a huge fucking difference between posting in a random thread about Republicans and directly responding to someone’s heartfelt expression of pain with mockery, which is exactly what Omg did to me. If someone had directly said to me, ‘‘This hurts because I am concerned for the safety of my children in the military’’ or something to that effect there is no way in hell I would respond to that with mockery and you damned well know it.
Latest thread is a mirror image of a 2012 thread, the OP of which never posted anywhere else on the board and ended up banned.
:hmm:
This. It’s all the teabaggers cared about, and it’s all the TrumpTard filth care about.
That’s true. I cited your role in that thread because you said you don’t remember any such thing, so I noted that you had participated in such a thread at the time. (OMG says he’s reacting to liberals in 2012, and you seemed to be casting doubt on whether such things had happened back then.)
However, the subsequently-linked thread in which you said you were addicted to schadenfreude which was better than winning the election is a more apt comparison. (Although you weren’t directly addressing someone at the time, true.)
I agree. But that’s not the correct context.
It’s not like you were just discussing your distress at the outcome and OMG responded by mocking you. OMG started this thread as a general mockery of liberals off and on the board. You declared that this was “fucking sick”, and then used your own feelings to bolster your condemnation. That changes the context.
Bricker should do his best to hold everyone in that thread accountable!
I’m starting to get the vibe, just reading between the lines, that you have some sort of issue with Bricker. Could be wrong, of course …
