[Moderating]
When I closed this thread this morning, I held off on commenting on it until we’d sorted out some of the drama in the ATMB threads. Now that that has, I hope, mostly been resolved, and the bulk of the warnings that precipitated it have been rescinded, there’s been some discussion in the mod loop about how to handle this thread.
We want to make it clear that the OP is very much in violation of the board rules. Disagreements with the moderation of the board are not acceptable topics for the Pit. And yes, the OP does not specifically mention any moderator actions with which he disagrees. We are not, however, idiots, and it’s clear that this thread was created directly as a reaction to the issues going on in ATMB. That’s not okay. This is a serious rules violation, and not something that’s easily dismissed.
That being said, it grew out of a situation where we on the moderation staff were not exactly at our best. We recognize there was a lot of confusion and anger over the situation. Given the circumstances. we’ve decided not to give any further censure to Dave Hartwick. But we want to make absolutely clear that this sort of game playing is not acceptable, and will not be winked at in the future.
