Here’s my opinion for all you natural young beauties out there. I wore makeup all my life starting about 14 or 15 and always had fun with it. Then I stopped working when I had my baby and have hardly been out of the house since, so there’s no need to put on makeup unless I’m dressing up, having hair done, etc. There was a time when I’d look in the mirror first thing in the morning and panic and put on lots of makup because I just looked so damn beat and old. That phase passed because the family doesn’t seem to mind, and I will put on a little to go out, but not much. Sadly, a) no one is looking, and b) if they are, they don’t care! My girlfriend said she once made up one side of her face only and left the other side bare to see if her husband noticed. He did not! I tried it and mine noticed right away, but I bet 9 out of 10 husbands would not notice.
I wear make-up for dates & for performances, otherwise, I just don’t want to spend the time on it.
Even when I wear make-up, I try to achieve a very subtle look.
I only wear makeup if I’m in a wedding - my own or any one else’s. I have no need to wear it every day, and I’m notoriously bad at it’s application. So I generally skip it.
The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits.

I don’t wear makeup. Except for a brief awful period in junior high, I never have (self-esteem was at an all-time low; weirdly, makeup just made me feel more self-conscious, so I stopped). I don’t own any makeup, except a thing of mascara that I put on once (I have long lashes, but the tips are blond, so I thought it would be cool to LOOK like I have long lashes), and my lashes stuck together and it was gross and I haven’t used it again. I don’t think I look particularly great or anything, I just don’t like makeup.

I don’t wear make up, either. I never got the hang of putting the stuff on. A former co-worker who quit to do Mary Kay full-time (she really wants a pink Cadillac) taught me how to do it for my wedding, and I guess it looked all right, but it took forever to do it in the morning, and my skin is so oily that the make-up would be wrecked in a few hours anyway (plus I can’t help but touch my face or rub my eyes all the time, which didn’t help the make-up stay on, either). Mostly, though, I just decided I’m not a very attractive person, and you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear, so why waste the time/money/energy trying?

I wear makeup often enough that it might as well be tattooed to my face. Hmmm…I might just have something there…
Anyway, I don’t do it to be beautiful, glamorous or impress anyone. I just generally prefer to see myself with my black eyeliner affixed instead of the hag that I see without it. I don’t think I’m ugly or anything (most days), I just prefer how I look with it.
I am not insane. I am just an average girl who enjoys the lost art of torturing small animals by duct-taping them to railroad tracks.
i sometimes wear make-up but it’s usually only powder cuz i’ve got oily skin and i hate when my face is shiny and lipgloss cuz my lips get dry and when that happens it HURTS!!!(everyone has to admit that chapped lips hurt) but thats @ it cuz i rub my face and eyes a lot so it gets messed up.
Whatever!!! Just don’t screw up my life with your wicked stupid ideas!
I love wearing makeup! I have to wear it at work; it’s actually written in the dress code. I do wear what some would consider quite a bit but I have had classes in make-up and I know how to have it on without looking like I’m wearing any (I can also put it on in under 3 minutes so time isn’t an issue). People always comment on my complexion and are surprised when I tell them it’s a make-up job.

No, stupid, it’s a boat!
I love wearing makeup! I enjoy the way it makes me look and the way it makes me feel and I believe that it is actually good for my skin and I like the way guys look at me when I’m all done up, especially when I hit the clubs. The men I’ve been close to like it also, because I can change my appearance for them, just to be erotic, right? Sometimes I like to do my eyes real dark and large and other times I like putting on some nice colored eye shadow and doing it so it makes my eyes look somewhat slanted or exotic, like in the People magazine. I only knew one guy who wanted me to be natural and I did it for him but it was not as much fun as before and he was kind of a jerk anyhow and I wound up dumping him. I’m not as good as Opalcat, though I was impressed with her skill. Sometimes, just for a treat, I’ve surprised a boyfriend by putting some glitter in my hair and a couple of times, I used some spray on color, like red, or blue and it’s fun. I’ve shocked a few guys, but I’ve never gotten any complaints. Once I put on fluorescent makeup I bought at a headshop, and fluorescent green nails for this cool guy I dated for some time who liked to have sex with black lights on and we had a great time because I glowed all over. He was sweet and used to make me fluorescent candles which he scented with herbal oils like mint, almond, vanilla, and walnut. We had some fun I’ll tell you and it was really boss! I even have false eyelashes I like to wear when I feel like being exotic. You know, under black light it looks like you’ve got a body tan and your teeth, especially if you brush them frequently like I do with fluoride toothpaste, glow GREEN! Isn’t that just too cool?!
I wear the basics for work everyday. Light eyeshadow, bit of mascara, blush, maybe a bit of powder if I’m shiny. That’s it. I will also sometimes wear it if we are going out somewhere nice. Otherwise, only blush. I HAVE to wear blush. I have extremely fair skin and light strawberry blonde hair. My dad says that he’s seen cadavers with more color than I have. I also don’t really “do” anything with my hair. It’s curly and just past shoulder length. No gel, no mousse, no spray - just wash, shake it out, and go. Wash and wear hair - you gotta love it.
My ex-husband used to HATE it when I wouldn’t get all made up and “do something” with my hair. But my current boyfriend says that I look best when I just get up. I don’t know why, but I am amazed at that attitude (pleased, yet, amazed). I guess between having my teenage years in the 80’s and my ex’s attitude, I thought all men wanted women made up all of the time. (since I don’t really wear it, you can see how much I care about what men want :)). I’m me, take it or leave it. (Do you know how much that attitude KILLS my Mother? - if she had her way, I’d sleep fully made up and in a ball gown).
There’s no snooze alarm on a hungry cat. =^…^=
Recently I complimented a woman friend on her lip stick & I said ‘I sure wish I had some of that down there,’ pointing to my lap. I thought she would get a hint but she just opened my pants and took her tube of lipstick & tried to put some on. It was pretty funny, really.
I have worn some kind of makeup since around fourth grade (basically, concealer back then), and full makeup since seventh grade (I’m seventeen now). Luckily, I eventually got the hang of it and can make it look natural (in my opinion), but the trend of people my age seems to be that it’s “slutty” to wear ANY makeup, unless you’re trying to be goth (so you can’t wear natural looking makeup??? I don’t understand people). I just wear the foundation deal to cover acne scars, blush so I’m not so deathly pale, mascara because I look funny without it, and brow shadow to make my eyebrows match my hair color. It’s sort of a losing battle, though; people make fun of the fact that I wear makeup, but when I wear little/no makeup, they make fun of the way I look without it. So I basically just wear makeup anyway, because that’s how I think I look best. I just wish I didn’t have gaps in my eyelashes…they make mascara difficult to perfect. Sorry for the rambling.

They do that, you know. I remember seeing a tv show about it years ago.

I cannot imagine going anywhere without my eyeliner on. I’ve worn makeup since turning 13 and have always loved putting it on. I put it on lightly to highlight and enhance what is already there.
I only wear when I go out! However even thats rare; only if I am going somewear special.
I have been told I don’t need it. I also contribute the fact that I don’t wear to the reason my complexion has always been clear.

Opps sorry about the double post
I wouldn’t go out to check the mail without wearing lipstick.
Remember, I’m pulling for you; we’re all in this together.

OK, as Ike suggested, I would log onto this one as soon as I got back–but I am not going to make fun of women who don’t wear makeup. What do I care?
I live in a certain world–New York publishing–where one would be looked on askance with a bare-nekked face. But I like wearing makeup, it’s fun. Not much, though–powder, pale lipstick, mascara and (if I’m going out at night) a slash of eye shadow. I also have thick eyebrows which I have to tame with tweezers, a chair and a whip.
As for my hair, I always wear it up in a loose, modified Gibson Girl chignon. It’s longish and I like to keep it out of my face–this is also a very easy, user-friendly style that keeps me out of beauty salons.
Flora, do you have a dog? You sound like someone I know…
