I Figured Out A Way to Get Hubby To Scrub Toilets!

Unfortunately, it involves nausea, fatigue, and loosing what is left of my girlish figure.

Yup, that’s right, I’m preggers. It comes as a complete shock, but now that we’re used to the idea we’re pretty happy (and booking a vasectomy for the Mr.)

Aside from having that constant feeling like I’m going to puke, everything is going fine. I’m pretty much a weepy emotional mess right now, but things will settle down in the next few weeks.

Name suggestions are welcome, but to save everyone time the names Neo, Morpheus and Sonic are ruled out. In fact, hubby and son are banned from suggesting any more names otherwise I will smack them.

As far as names go, how about…

Ore-Ida?

::ducks & runs for cover::

Let me be the first to congratulate you. Please? Can I please be the first? Please? I’m never first at anything!

Oh, tatertot, when I saw your thread I hurried right on over. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

However, I don’t think I’ll use your prescription for getting the old husbundial unit to scrub the potty. The frying pan would be a better option.

Congrat’s Tatertot! What great news. I wouldn’t presume to make a joke about something as important as naming your small-fry… Oops!

::checks for flying objects::

Congratulations. I would have said it sooner, but I wanted to be the first to offer “the name”.

Congradulations.

Always been partial to the names:

(Males)
Mathias, Mattias, Math.
Roman
Geoffrey
Ash
Virgil
Frodo (Hey, have to have a major fantasy ref name, is moral imperative and it was this or Oberon.)

(Females)
Eleanor
Rowan
Ash
Diane
Riley (Could also be males name)
Sarah
Michelle
(So, instead of bun in the oven, we get to say your baking an idaho golden? )

How wonderful! Congratulations to you and Mr. Tater. That’s gonna be one loved, fortunate kid.

Since the prime jokes about small fries, etc. have already been taken, please tell me that you’ll at least call the little sprout “Tot”!

I’m sure we can help you with an appropriate name: TaterDiva, Spudbysea, Taterian Sue, Mullintater, Totysha, AlphaTater, Spudere, Tot Zotti…well, the possiblities are endless.

Veb

How did your toilet get dirty?

Handy, Shhhhhhh, [sub]Morning sickness[/sub]

Congrats Tater!

You’ve already exemplified yourself as an outstanding mother. The little bun in the oven is a lucky soul indeed!

Of course, since you already have a little spudnik, you’re immune to some of the joking that this thread will eventually contain.

I believe one should know the meaning of the name you choose for your child. I like the idea of choosing a name with special meaning. I did a little research, and here’s a few candidates. I chose the names because I liked the meaning of them. Feel free to ignore them all (and I cut the list short, as it is :D). Consider this my gift to you.

As I mentioned in this thread:

http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=26899

I cannot imagine a person, right now, who deserves to enjoy this happy news more, despite the many good hearts on this board. I am so very happy that you’ve been so blessed, after your travails with your family, niece, and sister.

I don’t have any names to recommend, but very possibly you might want to ask your niece, Kayla for suggestions, when she gets back from seeing her mom. She will no doubt be thrilled to be a part of the family and maybe participating in the excitement will help strengthen her bond with you. Imagine how thrilled she’ll be to be a big sister/cousin!

My very best to you and yours. I wish you all the happiness and good fortune I would wish for myself.

That’s Shachar. I had a friend Shachar, so I feel the need to make the correction. It’s usually a guy’s name, too. Although my friend was a girl.

Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS!

Congrats to you and Mr Tater! This is wonderful news! This little one will be very blessed to have such loving parents. I am so happy for you both! And you deserve the happiness, after your trials with your sister and everything.

I have a few names to suggest:
Kenneth
Paul
Lawrence
Hunter
Edward
Michael
Dakota
Ryan, for a boy, and:

Cara
Rose
Meghan
Lacey
Brynne
Heather
Violet
Galadriel, for a girl.

Way to go! I wish the child health and happiness.

Especially if you name him “Sparky”.

Congratulations!!! Im kind of partial to Sue… seems to me it would fit male or female

Congratulations tatertot!! When is the little spud due to arrive?

I don’t really have any suggestions for names but here are a couple of sites that I enjoyed looking at while I was pregnant.

This one is pretty neat because you can follow your pregnancy week by week. Each week has a sonogram pictures and information about what the mother might be going through and how the baby is developing. There is also information about lots of other childbirth related stuff!

http://pregnancy.about.com/health/pregnancy/msub19.htm

This one is good for researching various things also. There is also a link to determine whether or not you’re going to have a boy or a girl that’s pretty fun. It was pretty accurate for me. You may try it just for kicks.

Again, congratulations and good luck on a wonderful pregnancy and a healthy baby!

Congratulations, tatertot! That is wonderful news indeed!

Here’s a good site to get information on various names, such as their meaning, popularity ranking, nicknames, etc.

http://www.babynamer.com/

And if you’re at all into numerology, check out

http://www.kabalarians.com/gkh/yourbaby.htm

I’ve always been partial to bible names, myself; Jacob, Joshua, Gabriel, David, Rachel, Rebecca, Sarah, etc.

BTW, when are you due?

Is it just me or does this name sound like and anti-itch medicine?
Anyways, Tater I’m really happy for you and the Big Spud! I’m fortunate, I never had any morning sickness.

I like pallindrome names:

Bob
Hannah
Otto
Anna
Aha

I will do more on names later.

What is the Estimated Day of Arrival for the Little Spud?
