I just had an exchange with HurricaneDitka in GD which I think shows him at his very stupidest yet.

I won’t argue that Trump “owes” Warren’s charity a million dollars. Lying is his trademark, and most of his oral utterances are too ungrammatical to form enforceable pledges anyway. What impressed me about the speech where Trump asked “Pocahontas” for a DNA test was the way he ranted nothing but childish insults for several minutes. Not one shred of humanity, not a single sentence of fact or non-despicable opinion; just childish insult after insult after insult. A Kindergarten teacher would have written “Little Donnie doesn’t play well with others.” As I wrote in GD, " all I can think is what a nasty despicable pandering hater this peculiar excuse for a human being is. I’m curious what you [Hurricane] think." His response:

My thoughts? It sounded like fairly typical red meat for a party’s base that gets thrown out at a campaign rally. Nothing in that video jumped out at me as particularly galling or offensive. I didn’t see anything that distinguishes him in a meaningful way from the average politician that infests DC, certainly nothing that raises him to a particularly high (or is it low?) level of “nasty despicable pandering hater” with enough distinction to set him apart from the rest of the field. IOW, this is typical-politician-levels of “nasty despicable pandering” in my view.

Wow! With a capital W. Trump’s performance in that video is so “beyond the pale” that it would be astounding in any other context. Calling the insults despicable is an understatement. In many contexts, a performance like this would have friends, relatives, or the relevant Board of Directors seeking an intervention or considering a court filing for a Declaration of Incompetence.

Yet you claim to find this typical for “the average politician that infests DC.” My mind boggles. I won’t ask for evidence that this rant was “typical” — I’d like to see you come up with even one single rant by a leading Democratic politician that even hints, however remotely, at rising toward this level.

HurricaneDitka was unable to come up with any evidence whatsoever that Trump’s performance was not “beyond the pale.” I prodded again:

Wrong again. Reread your own #214. I’ll bet even Trumpists — the few that have some self-awareness — realize your claim is preposterous. This Trump rant wasn’t any sort of ordinary speech.

I’ll admit there are a few whose prattle isn’t awfully dissimilar: Sarah Palin, Alex Jones, a few of the FoxNews assholes. (Is that why you think Trump’s speech is normal? Your reference point is rants on FoxNews and InfoWars?)

Start with the constant repetition of the intended insult “Pocahontas.” You cannot name a single politician who prattles such a rude and silly insult over and over, can you? Even comedians like Stephen Colbert don’t do that, but you don’t want to pretend Colbert is “an average politician infesting DC.” Then you’d have to defend Trump’s top mentor, vomit-mouth Sean Hannity.

And that’s just one word, “Pocahontas.” IIRC, every single sentence of Trump’s rant was stupid and rude. If finding a similar Youtube not by Trump is too impossible a mission, point to any part of this Trump rant that was not a moronic insult. This should be a challenge you can win! I didn’t have a transcript nor did I even finish this despicable shit-talk.

Or retract your claim. Blame it on the mushrooms you ate, or the cat pounding on your keyboard. Or, are you tempted to emulate your own idol? He who just moves from one preposterous lie to another, never bothering to defend his claims, just doubling-down with ever more preposterous lies?

Or — and this you’re quite likely to do, 2nd only to continuing your complete refusal to back-up your claim — blame me. I used an insulting word, or made a grammatical error in my challenge, so you’re off the hook. Makes great sense, hunh? Trump can rant and rave like Alex Jones, but it’s all OK because septimus misplaced a comma. Got it.

All I got for this was a Mod note (and I thought “mushrooms” offered Ditka a way out! ), and continued refusal to name any politician even remotely in the same league of blustering insults as Trump:

You asked me my opinion. Specifically, you said, “I’m curious what you think.” I told you what I thought. I made it clear that it was just my opinion by including phrases like “in my view”. There is no “claim” that I need to “defend” there, all you wild imaginations aside.

So: Trump’s rant — which sane observers found astounding even by Trump’s standard — was “typical” for politicians. But Hurricane cannot name a single such typical politician, nor point to a single YouTube.

The next time the “Nominations for Stupidest Doper” thread gets bumped, I know where my vote is going.
