i got put on that medication before. almost cost me my job. i asked the dr. if it would have any side effects that would affect my job performance because when i work nights, i work alone. he assured me i would be fine.
nope. and the bad part was, i didn’t realize that i was messing up my job, big time. i mean, i realized that i was tired, but i completely failed to perform my most imprtant duties. i thought the paperwork was messed up when it wasn’t, i just couldn’t make sense of it all. i entered all of my hourly schedules, but didn’t send them. my handwriting in the log book was atrocious. you could tell the hour that i took my dose by the change in writing. the whole time i thought i was just tired.
i am extremely lucky that i have an understanding boss. i explained what happened, and that i had specifically asked the doc about the side effects, and he understood. but he was extremly upset at me for not calling someone in to cover for me. i would have if i would’ve realized…
maybe i had an allergic reaction? anyway, i had to stop taking that one…
Do you have a link to this story? It sounds interesting. No wonder the race card is used so often when it sometimes works so wonderfully for the guilty.
Aren’t BAC tests done as a matter of course for anyone who is injured in a MVA? Anybody who is needing medical assistance after an MVA is automatically jabbed here in Aus, whether by the paramedics who attend the scene, or the medicos at the hospital later.
So, in other words, you may well have had a blood test but don’t remember it Bandanaman.
Driving after taking Ativan my ass - IMO he took the Ativan then kicked it in the ass with a few beers or whatever. The label says “may intensify the effects of alcohol” Which to many is considered “encouragement”
I don’t believe that most places had started using this as SOP for MVAs. If there is any shred of doubt, however, they will undoubtedly test you. And if you go to the hospital after a wreck unconscious, or “not with it”, they’ll probably pull a tox panel without you knowing it.
Im sure having it explained as “Do this and you will be alright” or “dont do this and get locked up” would clear someones head a little bit, that is of course if they are driving legally.
