So they’ve relaxed the immigration laws then?

My mum went with my dad in '84 (or '85, I can’t remember, I was 2!) and wasn’t allowed a work VISA on the grounds that she might have entered into a marraige of convenience to get into the country. Nevermind that she had 2 small kids as well and Australia’s hardly a hellhole that requires escaping.
