I get to go home ... Yay

About 20 months ago, I quit my permanent IT job and started contracting. I have had two contracts, both based in Telford (about 3 hours from home) and working for a major govt department. This has required living away from home during the week for that time.

My current contract has not been busy at all (contributing to an increasing post count here  ), and a new efficiency drive put my role at risk.

Today I got told I am being transferred to another govt project - which is much closer to home. I’ll be working with many of my old colleagues. But the best thing…

No more living away - just a bit of driving each day.

Now I have to figure out what to do with all my away stuff. My wife will have a fit over the keyboard and synth I picked up to play with. I don’t know where my guitars will go. I’ll be reorganising the study to fit some gear, and I forsee issues with bedspace and my snoring.

But I’ll be at home home home home home

Yaaay :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Si

Well, you’ve also got to find a place for the wife. I can see having nice guitars…and surely they deserve to sleep on the bed with you…

…where’s she going to sleep?

I’m so happy for you. I’m looking forward to/hoping for the day my husband can say the same thing. He’s been working a contract job in St. Louis for about 16 months now. The only thing is, he won’t have any away things to bring home, because he hasn’t gotten anything to keep there. I think he doesn’t want to make it too homelike, so he doesn’t miss home too much.

Anyway, enjoy.

Of course I’ll keep the guitars in bed with me - how else will I get to play with a G-String

Most likely, my snoring will annoy her so much, I’ll be on the couch :smack:
