I give a little talk to the club

The monthly meeting of the Galaxy Hobby Sci-Fi Club was a few days ago. The members had requested more informative presentations, so, as president, I booked a guest speaker: Myself. So for a bit less than half an hour I talked about the esoteric art of scratchbuilding, accompanied by a Powerpoint slide show.

My friend Space Battleship Inafuku, our unofficial Club Audio/Video guy, has been taking pictures of the show-and-tell table and posting them to Flickr. Just lately he has started video-recording the meetings; he edits them and posts them on YouTube. SBI makes a rather nice video; in the one he made of my presentation, he has insets of the Powerpoint slides, with me nattering away in the corner of the screen. Good way to present the material!

Anyway, if you’d like to see what** Rocketeer** looks like in action, and hear his oddly hoarse and nasal voice, and maybe learn a little bit about making models, and if you have immense patience, here’s a link to my lecture. Enjoy!

You look nothing like I pictured!

I look nothing like my own picture of myself!

I bet you say that to everyone!

I pictured you as one of the models Rocketeer posted. The Vampire Bride, or some such thing. I doubt I’m far off.

Hey, Rocker, post that link!

Rocketeer, you don’t look like a guy who drives a Fiat and makes the art you do. You look like a Lumber-Jack! Stud of the ‘Less-Than-Subtle’ arts. Hack and Slash, not the Beauty you create.

Anyway, cool presentation, and nice to put a face to the posts. You Rock, Dude!

This one? Beckdawrek

OMG, you have my highschool yearbook pix. How did you find that on the wayback machine?

Well Done! I’ve always been blown away by your work.

That’s good, but I was thinking the one in a purple dress. Green-tint skin maybe?

Hell, they’re all good! If I had your skilz, I wouldn’t need porno.
