I got a digital camera yay!

I got my Christmas present early today. So I was playin’ around takin’ pictures and stuff.

Here’s a self-portrait (my first digital camera picture :)): http://hometown.aol.com/antifluxx/page2.html

More pictures to come…

Cute Picture.

What kind of camera did you get Silo?

It’s an Olympus D-360L. The picture shown is in High resolution mode. It also has Super high resolution, and low resolution mode. I think the retail on the camera is around $400, but my mom got it on the net for $230. Anyways, I think it’s cool and I like it.

Hey…i just got one as an early Hanukah present. It’s a Canon Powershot S10…It’s really cool, and adictive. I loved taking pictures before i got it, and now that I got a digital camera, i don’t have to worry about film. It’s great.

I just got the same Olympus, right before I went to Vegas in September. I am very happy with it. Enjoy!

cool for you dude…
I should get one… I really want to share the joys of cat bagpipes with the world, and the scanner is fritzy.

Cool Silo! You’ll get a lot of good use out of it. I like mine because it’s so easy to put the pictures on a photo album website instead of keeping all the copies of pictures in various drawers, cabinets, and boxes around my house!

Have fun!

I got one. They eat batteries like there is no tomorrow. So get rechargeables.

Then I decided to just get a 35mm Kodak camera, they come with film, battery & flash at Longs for $8.00.

Back to Longs: a 24exp roll is about $2.00, & $5.00 to make paper prints & put them on a floppy disk & it takes one day.
I like it this way for some reason.

But I love your picture Silo. How about a picture of your mom?

Uhh, Silo? You might want to check out the link within this thread. First post.

Cool.
It’s so fun to have one.
And yes, I have one too.

Welcome to the world of instant gratification. I share your excitement. A few unsolicited tech tips:
Rechargeable batteries: I have had good luck with NiMH (nickel metal hydride) from Radio Shack. I bought two sets of batteries and one charger. I also keep a spare set of alkaline batteries in my camera bag. My little Agfa that I got last Christmas uses 4 ‘AA’ and the lcd screen just sucks battery power. It didn’t come with an AC adaptor so I had to special order one. I use that for downloading to save batteries. Also in a battery emergency you can still shoot. I think it is great that you don’t have to balance light as in chemical photography. Incandescent and flourescent lighting look the same as a .jpg, but on daylight film incand. looks yellow and flour. looks sickly green. A whole new world of indoor shooting has just been opened up for you. My Agfa has a sucky viewfinder, so I use the lcd screen for framing. I love it: perfectly framed pictures but the camera is 10" from my eye. Even shooting that way I can still get 95 640x480 shots on one 8mb Smartmedia card, using flash periodically, on one set of batteries. Smartmedia cards are expensive but you want at leat one extra.
Unfortunately image manipulation software is pricey. I have Adobe Photoshop, love the dodge-and-burn and layering, but it is over $500.
Have fun!!!

i had a canon powershot a5, i loved that camera because the pictures i took and gave to my friends made everybody so happy, but it was stolen from me a year ago…darn i hate thiefs.

but i got myself a new digital camera a couple of months ago, a canon digital ixus…darn its good!

bj0rn - enjoy your digital experiance silo…congrats

Here’s a picture of my favorite guitar.

Nice guitar. I would like to see more of that plant behind the chair. Thanks.

Antiflux? Gordon Korman fan?

Yep that’s my AOL handle. Not sure how I came up with it, I think I was just messing around. Anyway, I’ve had it for so many years I’ve just kept it. So who is Gordon Korman?

Silo, now you gotta do what I’m doing…photo of the day. Yep, everyday I am taking a <blink>new & exciting</blink> photo of my boring life and surroundings and posting it on the web. Stay tuned tomorrow for Boscibo’s Photo Of The Day…my dog’s frosty mustache! {j/k, I hope something more exciting happens tomorrow}
