His name is Max. I got him Friday. He’s a purebred tweenie shorthaired dachshund with black (and some brown) fur. He’s 5 years old and was a rescue dog. His mistress was an elderly women who suffered a stroke
(or heart attack, they weren’t clear) and had to go into a home. You can tell she spoiled him (he weighs 17 pounds, diet time). I picked him over several dachshund puppies (they aren’t going have trouble finding homes). He’s so cute, and incredibly well-behaved. I gave him a bath last night and he just stood there in the tub and didn’t even splash or try to climb out while I washed him  .
Yeah!!! Have fun!
Very good on you. So…where are the pictures?
Rescue dogs are the best, but you know the rules, alphaboi867. Make with the pictures!
Congratulations! My newest rescue has been here a week and is doing wonderfully. Rescued dogs are the best!

As soon as I can figure out how to hook my cell phone up to my laptop I’ll post them. :o
Does your phone have an option to email the pictures you take with it?
Hooray for new dogs! Long life and good health to yours!
I demand pictures.
Awww, dachshunds are so adorable.
Good for you for going for the rescue dog! We have a recues Bassett Hound (5 you when we got her) and she’s wonderful.
Have fun with your new pup, but if you don’t post pictures soon…
We thought about adopting a Beagle or a breed of similar size but after helping take care of the neighbor’s dogs we decided to stick with pets that don’t invovle so much work. Like cats.
Beagles take over your life. I’ve got two tricolored overlords in this house. I’m so incredibly beagle-whipped.
It’s just…they’re…they’re cute and they know it…and they use their cuteness like a club and bludgeon all of the resolve out of you…
