I would be surprised if I was the only person to get this kind of message. Please look into it.
I wouldn’t call that getting hacked. It’s just a spammer who signed up and sent out a PM spam. Please report the PM or at least let us know the user name so that we can ban them.
ETA: They might already be banned. There are a couple of banned spammer that had been sending out PMs. Let us know anyway. We want to make sure we ban all spammers that do this.
I’ve been doing this for four days, and my initial impression is that killing spam is the only thing we do that is unambiguously, universally approved. Yes, we will kill that spam for you. Love us. Remember this later.
Really, it’s the opposite of mercy. That’s an email the spammer is using to collect suckers. Google will make sure this thread is visible for all eternity, thereby publicizing the spammer’s sucker-bait.
If we are sane and vindictive, want to choke that off. Spammers need to be consigned to the deepest and most eternal memory hole, and quoting it for the Web’s eternal recollection is not the way to do it.
IMHO, of course. But I like the quote paraphrase, even if it’s not the same movie. /shrug
