I got a tattoo.

I really want a tattoo also but I am terrified of needles.

I am just a wimp…I keep saying that before my 30th birthday I am going to go get it done.

I like it, Joey, I like it a lot.

I don’t have one; if I did it would be either my name in Arabic or a stylized gazelle. Location is yet-to-be-determined location… I’m thinking upper arm; somewhere I can see it without looking in a mirror and in a spot that’s easily covered.

I were curious, Plankspanker, so I done Googled me some bass.

That’s going to be one cool tat.

Plankspanker,
here is some advice in regards to guitar tattoos.

Either don’t have the strings drawn in, or pay for a serious profesional tattoo artist. DO NOT SKIMP.

Why do I offer this advice?
A friend of mine had a guitar tattoo. It looked smashing.
Then… he decided that he didn’t like for it to look stringless…the the frets were all wrong or something…
and when the strings were added on, it looked so bad that it ruined the tattoo.
The strings were not ‘stick straight’ and made the guitar look like all the strings had been loosened. Words can not express the sad appearance of the guitar.

Best of luck to you!

I am planing to get one in a couple of weeks. I have the money and I have the friend to hold my hand. I have had the design for 5 months now. I have just kept it around this long to see if I like it over a long term and thus live with it. I discovered yes - I want it even more now.

It is just corny Chinese Symbols at the moment. But hopefully I will get more done eventually.

Yup Gazelle, that’s the bass, altho the photo i’m having the artist draw the stuff up from is this one .

Baboon, i know what ya mean. it’s gonna be expensive (about £160), but it’s being done by a damned fine local artist, and slightly larger than my printer prints it so that he can capture the strings and controls properly.

anyway, i’m havin a damned good look at the trace before he starts doing anything to my arm. i’ll be postin’ another ‘lookit da tat!’ thread once it’s done, so y’all can see

Joey, you are an animal!

I like it. Very original. Kudos for not going with a trendy Celtic or Alaskan flash hanging on the wall in the parlor. I looked at the close up first, and the way the hair was shaved frightened me enough to look at the location. I’m not sure if I’m disappointed or relieved:)

You Da Man as always!

Actually Aries, I’m afraid of needles also. I usually feel woozy after getting one. However, tattoo needles are different. The shaft is no where near as long and instead of actually plunging it into your vein, only the first few layers of your skin are affected. There is a minimal amount of blood.

I say, GO FOR IT!
