I got my White Elephant Stuff!!!

You’re quite welcome, Skerri! I live to serve…

But, one correction: while I suppose the hand-operated shaver could be used on clothing, it’s really a facial shaver (though I did try to use it on Astrogirl’s armpits one day… chased her all over my dorm room! The VROOM VROOM noise it makes scared her!).

Enjoy!

BTW: I assure you that the ear-pick is unused!

Okay, I’m finally here to report.

I received my wonderful White Elephant package from scout1222 several days ago but for some reason I could never find this thread even though I was assured it existed!

Anyway, I received a spill-proof coffee mug in a wonderful purple color (I didn’t have one of my own at work and now I do!) I also received a pair of folding binoculars–way cool. I got a copy of Holidays on Ice by David Sedaris–very entertaining. And I got loads of bubble wrap for my popping pleasure! Maybe I’m just easily amused but I really liked my stuff and consider them more like presents than White Elephant things.

Thanks, scout

I got mine!!
I had a package waiting for me last night. Missus Coder and Ralf Jr were trying to figure out who we knew named Jeffro. I explained as I was shredding the packaging, and found…

a gizmo to connect to a scanner, so I can scan my slides. Well, I don’t shoot slides any more, but thank you anyway, Jeffro.

Your very welcome RalfCoder, I’m sure it will collect as much dust on your shelf as it did on mine!

Jeffro

Someone in middle America should be opening a FedEx package about now and regretting their participation in this.

Fed Ex??? It cost me $18 US to send my package to Canada by USPS. I’m quite sure the contents aren’t worth that!

Jeez, I sent my stuff air-mail overseas for about $6.00.

My office has a FedEx machine. Ssshhhhhh. Don’t tell.

As for not being worth the postage, my stuff wasn’t worth the box I packed it in.

Gee, and I thought I was really putting myself out there by paying for Priority Mail instead of Regular Mule Train rate.

By the way, mine should have been there ages ago. Either the Doper in question is on vacation, or he’s left the boards as a result of my box o’ crap.

I mailed my package last week and it should have reached Michigan by now.

My mailbox is still empty. Sniff!

I have the same problems, Cranky and Baker. And I sent mine Priority Mail also, last week. sighs I have been scaring myself by wondering if I wrote down the address wrong…or if the box opened up and all the contents were stolen by postal workers… worries I should’ve just driven over and given it in person.

i see how it is. i guess i was the odd one out, huh? up 'til now, i just thought the list wansn’t ready yet. i see, i’ll just fedex my crap to myself. [sub]sniff[/sub]

I really wish I had waited a couple of more days before sending my package. Yesterday I remembered that I had some coffee cups that just scream white elephant. They’re gray with black speckles and on one side they have the word Texas written in big letters. The other side has an armadillo the size of the Texas lettering. To make matters worse, I have eight of these things. I really am starting to suspect that my mother-in-law hates me. This is just another example of the things she gives me.

I’ll be happy to send you these cups amati. You’re gonna love them.

Hey!

I got my White Elephant Stuff today!!

One of my co-workers happened to be in our office (where the mail for the foreigners is delivered), and noticed a package for me. Said co-worker was kind enough to drag it back to the dorm with him and deliver it to me!

I received, from GingerOfTheNorth:
-a gorgeous postcard of Canmore, Alberta. (is that really your back yard? It looks like heaven! I haven’t been outside of Seoul for several months!:frowning: )

-a hat from the Northwest Territories (which will almost certainly be commandeered by Astrogirl as soon as she see it, so I may have to hide it for a while!:D)

-(my favorite item) a REALLY cool keychain made of inlaid wood depicting (as I interpret it) a momma bear and a baby bear walking through the hills of the northern Rocky Mountains! This is really pretty! (I may have to hide this from Astrogirl also! Don’t tell her!)

Thanks, Ginger!!

You’re welcome Astroboy14. I was very afraid you’d be disappointed, when you started going on about weird stuff in the original thread.

Thank you, thank you, Verrain, I got my stuff today!!!

And it’s not all white elephant stuff, at least not to me. The little paint brush I will use shortly to touch up some window frames, I was THAT close to BUYING one! And the Pokemon cards will absolutely thrill my nephew(7 years old) who is deeply into them. Just yesterday this indulgent aunt bought him a box of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese that had Pikachu on the cover. I suppressed the gag reflex myself but that’s what the kid likes so he got it.
I can actually read the frog button written in Spanish because I took it in hish school myself. And the anime videotape should be interesting as I have never watched much of it, except at a couple of sci-fi conventions. The little TV gadget I haven’t figured out yet, no picture appears and I’m not sure if one is supposed to. And the icing on the cake is the Sim City 2000 CD. I’ve seen such games for sale but never had the nerve to buy one and try it out. Maybe this will break the game barrier for me.

Again, LOVE THE STUFF!!!

Ha ha. But seriously, I sent that … uh, classy and fully tasteful selection of goods to my person on the 20th. It wasn’t going that far, so spill! Is it there yet? I’m all worried that my creative and hilarious packaging made someone steal it, or something.

I am so pleased you enjoyed the stuff, Baker. Apparently my ESP was dead on to send such appropriate things. The little TV thing is like a viewmaster viewer. You hold it up to light and look through the hole at the back. The little button at the bottom moves the pictures. If it lines up right, you’ll see some sea life.

Enjoy it all, and please send me some Email and let me know how your growing Sim metropolis fares.

Just wondering if anyone else got anything yet? Most especially, did anyone in Texas get their package yet?

Alas, I’ve not received anything to date, but I see that lots of people are just now sending stuff out, so I’ll try not to be too anxious yet.

Wondering how long it takes a package to go from FL to CA?? Has the one I sent arrived?

usps, about 5-10 days. i just sent mine out this am should be there around fri or mon of next week, look out utah.

i’m also sending some small stuff out to lucky charms… he did say he wanted mail, right??
