I’ll keep you in reserve, just in case things don’t work out.
Well done, BookKitty, things are really looking up for you. Don’t worry about VBob, he’s got nuts to play with.
Oh, is that why you invited me over to Argent Dawn, to ninja from me? Damn, at your level I would’a thought you had bigger people to ninja from!
I’m too chicken to try to type without looking - I do not use the ASDF-JKL: method, nor do I hunt and peck. I have my own meethod that works great, as long as I can see the keyboard.
I took a typing class in high school so that I could type my college papers. We used the “new” IBM Selectric (with the little interchangeable font ball) but the machines were brand new, so they hadn’t replaced the keys with blank ones, so I was never forced to learn how not to look at the keys.
It snowed last night. There’s still some white stuff scattered around, but it’s far from bootworthy, which is good, because my new boots hurt my feet.
I think this is the earliest I’ve ever posted to the MMP. Ok, eyes open. I have a stomach ache and can’t get back to sleep. I do not appreciate being awake at 5 am for any reason, plus the garbage trucks will be cruising around in about 45 minutes, so I’ll never get back to sleep. Grrr.
{{{Nava}}}
Ok, I am typing with my eyes closed. I’m usually vairly good at this. We’ll see. Today I have to hand in the exams I graded yesterday, all 87 of them. Most of the kids did alright. it was a good bell curve. Then I have to go over the new lab and finish my quantytum mechanics homework.
{{{Nava}}}
opens eyes Hey, not bad. It helps that I was able to directly paste the pun in.
Yeah, we can tell.
Leave it to swampy to complain about things going good.
When I first started reading about FCM’s old boyfriend, I thought for sure he was going to tell her that she was the mother of one of his kids, and she didn’t know about it until now. Yeah, I know biology doesn’t work that way, but that’s what first came to mind.
Sean it’s not so much complainin’ as sayin’ I had nuttin’ awesome, earth shattering, witty, urbane and suave to wow y’all with in the MMP. That can be a good thing.
Today is move junk around day at work. See, we’re gettin’ carpets cleaned tomorrow, so anything we can move off of carpeted areas is gettin’ moved. Yay for clean carpets though. Some of the junk is going to other better junk storin’ places. It’s all kinda like spring cleaning. Oh, and the new Workshop Manager starts on Thursday. YAY! Mops, mop handles, wiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrreeeee haaaaaannnnnnngggggggeeeeeeerrrrrrrsssss, round rubber gasket thingys, boxes, etc. will be her problem to deal with. Well, they’ll always in some ways be kinda sorta mine too cause I’m the big boss but mostly it’ll be hers to deal with. So, YAY! Meanwhile, we got a dust mop order to deal with today. Plus badgerin’ everybody for timesheets cause this Friday is payday. Yay for payday!
looks at clock Well, it’s Tuesday now. But to hell with it. I’m posting here again, and hang the consequences!
In the spirit of the thread, I offer anonymous internet hugs to Nava.
{{{Nava}}}
We haven’t met, so I’ll let you know that I’m a weird creepy guy, and like any weird creepy guy, I’m all about spreadin’ the love.
LiteraryFeline, enjoy your job, and travelinggardener, enjoy your oatmeal.
…seriously, you guys, this thread is freaking me right the hell out.
Morning everybody! Eyes closed, as ordered. Of course, I’ve been awake for abou five seconds, so I don’t know how well I’ll do.
Oooh, that was good! Yay me!
Before I forget, {{hugs for Nava}}, yays for Bibs, welcome to Roozie, and all that other stuff.
This weekend, after a year of looking for the perfect kitchen table, we finally bought one. I found it at Target on Friday, and Roomie’s boyfriend was visiting for the weekend, so we had somebody to carry it up the stairs. It’s not much, just a two-seat pub table, but we like it.
And I suppose I should go job-hunt now. Bo-ring.
Droozie, I don’t think there’s anything in the rules about how often you can post on the MMP. Of course, if you want to be sure about it, just send more chocolate to FCM and beerverages to the guys. And me. I’m all in favour of beerverages - it travels much better than champagne.
Speaking of beerverages, I had a great beer this weekend. A microbrew from Colorado, called Smoke Jumper. A very dark, smokey beer. Easily the best beer I’ve ever had.
Now I just need to find a liquor store around here to order it for me.
Woo! Drae’s here early!
Damn. I got up before seven. I really did. I had a bath, and thought seriously about heading out to do the laundry. And then I thought that bed looked warm and comfy, and it was -18 or something outside, and still dark. I was still going to get up by eight.
Hugs for Nava.
Yawn. Tea, and then laundromatting. I should phone work to see if my co-worker is sick, and if I’m going to have to come in early.
<closes eyes>
Okay, so ley’s try this out. I’m supposed to be atouch-typist, so with any luck this won’t look half as bad when I open my eyes again. Of course, I can become dislocated on the keyboard with the best of them, thinking I’m hovering over the correct keys when in fact Im shifted over a letter or two, so who knows. Maybe this will end up looking like a cat on a keyboard.
<opens eyes>
Well … not bad. One letter letter shift (t->y), one missed space, and one missed apostrophe. Funky.
Y’know, my life is a lot like the week you’re having, Swampus. Work is routine, home life is relatively dull, and I tend not to run afoul of weirdness too often, owing mostly I think to the fact that I live in a rather dull suburb.
The most exciting thing that happened this weekend (other than the love life bein’ good) was me turning my Windows XP installation into something that closely resembles and functions like Vista. Why? Thumbing my nose at Microsoft I suppose 'cos I don’t plan on actually upgrading to Vista. Ever. I daresay I might even go Mac before that happens, and I am anything but an Apple fan. (I don’t dislike them, there are just too many Windoze things I use that Mac doesn’t have in the same caliber if at all, even though I like the OS. But that’s another discussion for another thread.)
It was bitter cold this morning. -15C, and it snowed and fluctuated temperature enough over the weekend that there’s both lots of snow and lots of ice covering the trees and smoothing over the snow on the ground, making for some crunchy walking, not to mention the 500+ accidents reported over the weekend due to black ice covering various major highways. It’s days like that in which I’m glad I don’t drive. (Of course I spend the rest of the time wishing i did…)
{{Nava}} - If it’s any consolation, I’ve found that when Life[sup]TM[/sup] starts throwing 'em hard and fast, it eventually gets tired and has to rest, leaving you with time to breathe and regroup and get a little fun in besides. It sucks now of course, but at some point it will stop sucking. Me, I just try and slog through Teh Suck as best I can until such time as it can suck no longer and needs to go and rinse.
Wait, maybe that wasn’t the best analogy…
Hi everyone. I was lured back by the promise of The Worst Ever MMP. swampy, you don’t disappoint.
Also, I have new pictures of my Darling Boy getting a haircut, which I MUST show off.
So, here he is: Darling Boy Getting a Haircut, Looking at Cut Hair, and Modeling the Finished Product.
Good morning, all. Okay, I’m playijng. For a minute. I kjnow I just screwed up “playing” but I couldn’t see it to fix it. Hey, at least this is easier than what I was typing up last night – I was copying out some knitting directions, so was typing things like “Sl 1 pwise tbl wyif” – real words are easier.
Okay. eyes open again. It’s cooold here this morning, wind chill down in the single digits Amurrikan (that’s -15 or so for everybody else). The dogs love it, but me, I’ll stay in my nice warm house till I have to leave, thank you very much!
Welcome to the MMP, Doozie. See, we’ll all try out different nicknames until we settle on one that everyone agrees is perfect. Or until Swampy issues a decree, which amounts to the same thing. And yes, chocolate for FCM, beerverages for Swampy, and whatever you think it would like for the goat are the required love offerings. Just ship 'em through the CD drive.
{{{Nava}}}
And now I’d better get to work since this afternoon I have to help palebunny find the place to get the hand controls on her car adjusted. So I should be a dutiful little worker till then, right? Or something. We shall see.
Dang. How can a thread about how little is going on in the OP’s life make me feel like I have so much less going on in my life than everyone else?
Raelin’ D, job hunts are exciting! Such opportunity for a new life. …actually, yeah, you’re right. My enthusiasm for that was even more short-lived than I expected. Still, there’s at least potential for excitement.
I’m not sure how I’d go buying bevvies for you all. I mean, I’d be happy to, of course, but I realised recently that I don’t actually have any legal ID. Which reminds me! I do have something going on in life, because I’m finally going to get my act together and get a driver’s license. So I can buy alcohol, of course. Until then, however, I can only send you e-beer. While real beer is heavy and takes some time to post, transfer of e-beer is instantaneous, and convenient. Unfortunately, while real beer exists, e-beer is something I just made up then, and doesn’t. Next time there’s one of those anonymous gift exchange things on the Dope, though, I’m in. And I’m filling it with chocolate and booze. Hell yeah.
E-beer…that’s real beer but it isn’t? Actually in the UK, it’s called “lager”.
I have to do this with my eyes sht?
No way.
Good morning, all. Had a nice day at work yesterday (see? I do have nice days), but am tired this morning-probably because I face an 8 page paper. It shouldn’t be hard, right? It’s all about me (seriously-this is about the history of my reading–yes, this is an assignment–when I started, what I read etc). But somehow, I am just not into it.
StrangeDoozieDude from Oz–um, hello and you are standing too close to me. Plus, it’s still Monday, as any thinking person knows. Duh. Get over your International Date Line already… (just a joke)
Nava --many hugs and lots of choccies to you. I thought you left your car in Spain? <ducks and runs>
Tis cold here today. A day to stay in…and write a paper. I don’t even have any laundry to do (surely this is odd, no?).
::sigh:: Okay here I go. I haven’t done anything this silly since, oh, yesterday.
Hmmph, not bad for eyes closed.
Yesterday was pay J.C. Penney entrance fee. :eek: I’m here to tell ya…it’s way WAY moren’ Target. See, I went in to find the sheer window scarves, rod, and whatchamagigger things that hold the scarves back from the window. Anyway, they look like this but using these holdbacks Don’t look at me like that! There was a SALE!! :dubious:
I also got some decorative pillows and a throw. There was a SALE, dammit!! Anyhoo, my bedroom looks all spiffy and purty now. Puggy is happy.
We got 40 degrees Murkin here this morning with windchill. I wore my five-times-a-year Pendleton wool coat to work today. This is how cold I am ----> Tomorrow is supposed to be even worse.
Eats this weekend were appropriate to the temps…chili on Saturday night and a turkey breast last night.
{{{{Nava}}}} Just remember it will all pass.
picu that cruise sounds faaaaaaabulous! How many of the islands will you see?
Welcome dino!
