Navy Federal, FCM? We’re with them, and man, it’s amazing how fast we can get approvals. For anything but a mortgage; there they practically demand blood samples and the sacrifice of your firstborn. Oy. But auto loans are lickety-split.
That yarn is lovely, Jahdra – the colors are gorgeous. I spent an hour this afternoon drooling over some of the most unusual yarns I’ve ever seen – silk and seacell (seaweed fiber), anyone? Or, stranger yet, silk-wrapped stainless steel? What would you knit with that, chain mail? The mind boggles. I think I may have to order some just to see what it’s like!
Oddly enough, no, we don’t belong to Navy Federal. This was from the NSWC credit union in Dahlgren. Our other CU account is in Jacksonville - we’ve been with them since '83.
Lunches are done. Microwave is cleaned. Scruffy has had her evening constitutional. I was going to iron some of my new shirts, but I’ve run out of steam. Mebbe tomorrow? After I do my homework. Dunno why I bother - I’m not taking the class for credit, but what the heck.
Papa Tigs got on with Navy Federal years before I met him, when he was a contractor working for the Navy overseas, so we’ve been with them ever since. When we bought our last car, the dealer was able to tap right into Navy Federal from their computer system and get the answer directly without us even having to talk to them ourselves.
I’ve heard that SeaSilk is addictive. It’s on my list of yarns to fondle at Stitches (19 days to go!), along with qiviut, guanaco, and yak. Habu’s stainless steel yarn is interesting. My LYS sells a shawl kit with it, and part of it is felted. The results are rather…organic. It looks like it would be fun to work with, though, even if just for the sheer fun of telling people that you’re knitting stainless steel lace.
