I Got Nuttin’… The Worst Ever MMP

gotti - The “Hey Mr. Landlord” tool is overrated. It takes multiple attempts just to get it started, and may take a week or more to get the job done – assuming it doesn’t shut down as a result of forgetting there was something it was supposed to do, which then requires the “Hey Mr. Property Manager” tool to fix.

This was made even worse in my building when they announced the all-new “Hey Mr. Outsourced Building Care Company” tool. As far as I can tell its only purpose is to take messages and then promptly delete them. Apparently, they call this progress.

Oh! They did send over a “Ms. Check Up On Our Tenants’ Concerns” tool, but she is apparently just a physical extension of the “Hey Mr. Outsourced Building Care Company” tool and is equally as effective.

I wish I had bats to worry about.

Is anybody besides me turned on by gotti’s manly “mister-fix-it” post? ::Swoon:: If I were DH… well… maybe we best not go there.

I had a couple posts I tried to make that were oh so witty and urbane but alas. Y’all will just have to believe me.

My house smells so incredible right now! See, I sneaked out of work early… well not really cause I had to make a delivery to FedEx and I just told everybody when I was done with that, I was through for the day. Anywho, I came home, popped the chicken pie in the oven to bake for supper tonight and then started on making the taco soup which will be supper for the next couple or three nights. The combo of the two cookin’ away is just awesome! I’ll steam some broccoli to go along with the chicken pie in a bit. I also have a salad to go along with it. Tomorrow’s lunch will consist of leftover chicken pie and salad. YUM! Then, there will be taco soup! With a big ol’ whack of sour cream, some black olives, chopped scallions and corn chips to mix in with it. MMMMMMMMMM… I be a hongry bear right now! Somebody best not be late for supper tonight.

Hugs etc… to everybody who needs 'em. Right now I need me a nerve tonic.

I got your “celebrate the white stuff” right here lady. :dubious:

Fricking snow. At least it’s only a little, and it’s fluffy, not sticky and wet.

Snow. Ugh. It’s overrated and frankly not that pretty. Oh it’s all right if you just want to look at it but nooooooo … life must go on and Ellen must go OUT in it, lugging a wiggly child and prodding the two older ones along like ambling, lowing beasts. And the scraping. The scraping of the windshield! With no gloves! And it was like TWELVE degrees this morning! Arrgggggggg!

I have a husband for these tasks, but unfortunately he was “night-nigh” as Haircut Boy says, this morning, being down with the sickies. So the slogging and the freezing and the herding was all up to me. I hate winter. Hate it. I wish they’d move the South a little further up, so the Commonwealth would be completely embraced by it, not merely nudging up against it. We get the horrible humid heat all summer! Why can’t we be spared the frigid winter too!

Ya just can’t win.

Oh yeah, and The Adorable One was 2 in September. That’s when I quit counting Months. I can’t bring myself to give month-totals after 2. So he’s 2 until he’s 3. :stuck_out_tongue:

What. a. day.

Visit to the Dr wasn’t too bad, altho it took longer than I’d expected. I love my Dr - he sits and talks to me, he checks back on prior visits, and he acts like he really cares. Anyway, when he was done poking and prodding and looking into various orifices and stuff, he sent me to have blood drawn.

It took 2 nurses and 3 sticks to find a vein that would give it up. Afterwards it occurred to me that I might have been a wee bit dehydrated. It was supposed to be a fasting blood test, but water wouldn’t have affected it. Dummy! Anyway, they got the blood.

I got to work about 20 minutes later than I’d planned, and idiot stupidhead came to see me shortly thereafter. He was a real joy today - he had the proverbial breath that could knock a buzzard off… well, you know. ick. He proceeded to get all snarky on me about my report. Apparently it didn’t occur to him till now to tell the team exactly what he wanted. This all needs to be done on Thursday, and I’ve now got to edit all 6 of my webpages. I’m not going to rant any more here, but I did talk to my assorted bosses (we’re a matrixed org, so I have several folks to report to) and let them all know that I want nothing more to do with this project or that man. I won’t work with him any more. Big ol’ idiot stupidhead! Plus because of him, I didn’t have time to eat lunch, nor did I get breakfast because of the blood test. I noshed a bit in the car as I drove to work, but it weren’t enuff. :frowning:

Shrimps for supper, with sides of leftover veggies, I think.

Oh, and my book for my class arrived today - yay! So I can do my homework, even tho I’m not taking this class for a grade. I haven’t decided if I’m going to bother with the written exams or not…

**FCD ** is almost home - off to the kitchen I go!!

I got a bunch of nothing.

It’s actually Tuesday morning here and I’m trying to cut back on caffeine so am drinkinga nice non herbal tea instead. It’s just not cutting it. My outlook is taking progressively longer to open each morning. Or it teases me. It opens and then freezes. sigh

Told you I got nothing.

You’re just excited because I have a buttset aren’t you?

(That is the same one I have, but far, far more than I paid for it on eBay a couple years ago.)

Page 2 by 11:00 Monday morning? we are mundane and pointless today. Work went OK, no screaming, punching, or medical emergencies. I am making chicken thighs in hot wing sauce for dinner, with N.O.Ts and a salad. It is a balmy 35 degrees Amurikin, with a windchill of 32.

FCM, at least he didn’t show up at the funeral with a date.

gt, I had oatmeal, too. Alas it wasn’t oatmeal stout.

[Cheers]Ellen![/Cheers]

olives, that sucks. Did they at least give you good drugs?

Rebo, your eye closed typing reminds me of Groundskeeper Willie from The Simpsons

Yah Bookcat!!!
gotti, we get that buzz at work twice a week. I assume meth crazed killer bees are calling for directions.

Celebrate the white stuff? rigs, you know the Reader frowns on drug threads.

I hate mondays. My classes starty at half past eight and dont finidh until six. Plus I still hurt from yesterdau. I spent 3 hours this morning dossecting breasts, breast tumors and all possible sites of metasrasis. Now I can;t stop checking my breasts and I think I am frea, ing my housemates out. That was probably \\\\\\\ mi.
evermind.

Yeah, I suck.

Who went and turned my nice, fun job into Teh Crazies?? Last week turned busy on Thursday and then downright ugly on Friday. By 5pm, I really wished I could stand the taste of alcohol because it was a night where about a dozen nerve tonics would have been the answer. But no, so pizza and soda had to do. Oh well.

Then I thought we’d pretty well put the problem from Friday behind us, but I spent more than half the day today still dealing with it. Argh!

I’m really happy with my supervisor and boss though. This was my screw up (Really, everyone should know not to give important work to anyone the week before their wedding… I screwed something up that week and it took us until now to catch the problem.) combined with some miscommunication with another group but both supervisor and boss were very helpful and very un-critical. The conversation about this pretty much went “What happened? How did it happen? What are we doing to fix the problem? How can we help? How do we change our process so this doesn’t happen again? Good.” I’ve worked with much less supportive people in the past and really was expecting to be read the riot act so I was really surprised and very pleased when they were so good about the whole thing. So while it’s been a PITA cleaning up my mess, at least no one’s been yelling at me while I’ve been doing it.

But I could still use some nerve tonic. Could someone please take the alcohol out of a whole bunch of nerve tonic for me and then give it back to me? I suppose though that I wouldn’t get to the pleasant state of oblivion that I’m looking for that way. ::sigh:: Oh well.

Anyway, let’s try the eyes closed typing thing. Hmm… doesn’t seem toobad. I think it helps to avoid the weird letters like z and q. And like someone else said, there’s no way I’m going to find the hyphen.

Hmm… cool, looks pretty good.

Much empathy to the job seekers. Been there, done that last year and don’t want to do it again for a while. Ick! My best advice: just send out lots and lots of resumes and plan for it to take a couple months. I was past 80 resumes before I finally - and all at once - got 3 interviews. And that was in April, when I’d started sending out resumes in February. Yeah, it sucks a lot. But the flip side is that I’m WAY happier here than I was at my old job. So it can be worth all the headaches and hassle.

Okay, I’m typing this with my eyes closed. Are you happe, swampy?
Anyone have any spare money? I’ll happily accept. Anyone want to re-fix my new thermostat in my car, that just-so-happened to stop working after a week?

These Ann Arbor commutes in the winter suck ass. I much prefer a nice, warm car.

I’m hundry and want pizza. All I’ce go t are bagel thingies, though. (okay, eyes closed again.)

I, too, got nuthin’. At least, not much. Car is fixed, yay! I need to get the brakes looked at, but that’s not an emergency. So, next week.

I am still a fan of snow. This is probably because I haven’t lived anywhere that snow isn’t really rare – we’re talking once every few years rare – since I was six years old. I expect I’ll quit liking it so much once I have to go out and drive in it, if we get enough for it to be a problem on the roads.

You better not let DH catch you talkin’ to me like that. :stuck_out_tongue:

Supper was tres yum. I make a dang good chicken pie. A certain somebody is making overtures about a soak in the hot tub. Mayhaps I should fear for my virtue.

You want some snow? Come get the little we have for here. I’ll take your warmth, whiterabbit.

Hey people,

Thanks for all the warm welcomes the last time I posted in a MMP. I haven’t posted again because I got a little overwhelmed with the amount of posts and the speed. And then I got a littel overwhelmed with the topics. But this topic is awesome so far.

:: opens eyes::

I’m debating about how much I should share here. I’m a VERY private person and kinda shy, but I like how everyone shares what’s going on and gets support here, so we’ll see how it goes. Also, I’m envious of just about everyone’s lives here because they’re certainly going better than mine from my perspective at the moment. My attitude right now is in the suckitude area at the moment.

But I’m enjoying all of your posts and learning stuff from all of you. Thanks for sharing.

Swampy? Virtue? It is to laugh!

I think you’ve got palebunny mixed up with someone who lives where it’s warm now, LOUNE. Today it got up to a balmy 33°, one degree above freezing; and our wind chill has been in the teens or single digits all day. Maybe she used to live in warmer climes, but she sure doesn’t now! I think her love of snow will evaporate fairly quickly once it gets really nasty. Or if the power goes out. Three or four days without power in the dead of winter does a lot to change one’s opinion of cold weather.

They were out of the yarn in Melange Forest and I’d have had to wait a week for it. :frowning: But they did have Cranberry, so it’s winging its way to me as we speak. I love pretty yarn!

I went to lunch with former co-workers today. They spent most of the time bitching about their jobs. Oh! Another admin gave notice today. They’re losing them at a rate of one every other week. I won’t be a bit surprised if the next one is one of the co-workers I had lunch with today. We had Chinese, so here’s my fortune:

Happy events will take place shortly in your home.

I have another knitting assignment, and this time, she wants to be surprised. Yay! She likes red, and I like red, so this will be a fun one. But I ought to do my Stitches homework first. Maybe I’ll do one swatch this evening.

I’m not in Louisiana any more. And it is cold tonight! It’s supposed to get down to the upper teens. I’m staying inside! I like cold, within reason. Earlier today I was out and about and it felt really good. But now…brrrrrrrrrr.

Inappropriate oversharing is all part of the fun of teh internets.

White stuff! Yay!

I was desperately trying to post this morning, but the server wouldn’t let me, and I eventually gave up and went to school to get some work done. Rigs, congrats on getting that sucker done! I have a presentation this week but I can’t seem to concentrate on anything. The reason for this would be my …indiscretion… on Thursday night… am I wrong to expect him to SAY SOMETHING about what happened? Or should we both be playing it-never-happened? I thought we were good friends, but the fact that he hasn’t attempted to talk to me since Thursday makes me wonder if sleeping with me was just something he needed to get out of his system or something. In which case I end up being a terrible judge of character, because I actually like him, and I can’t seem to be able to brush off Thursday night as simply a regrettable drunken episode. Which he seems to be doing, from the lack of communication. ARGH. bangs head repeatedly on desk I need to get over this.

Maybe eating something will make me feel better. I’ve been surviving on coffee and scones all day.

Big hugs to Nava and H&R. Sometimes life just sucks.
