You remember all those predictions about how permitting gay marriage in Massachusetts would lead to the destruction of marriage and the perversion of our young and probably the next Ice Age?
Well, maybe they had something.
The Boston Public Gardens have a pair of swans, named Romeo and Juliet. For the past two months they have been devotedly tending their nest with 9 eggs, while Bostonians by the hundreds have made daily pilgrimages hoping to spot the swanlets-to-be on first hatching.
Today, all our hopes are dashed. It seems that Romeo is a cross-dresser! Yes, we have our very own f/f gay marriage going on, flaunting their perverted leanings in the faces of proper old ladies and innocent schoolchildren alike.
A few months back there was a story about Central park Zoo’s gay pengiuns. Two male penguins, Silo & Roy had pair bonded and were quite desperate to have an egg. They were choosing egg-sized rocks and sitting on them. Zookeepers took pity on them and gave them a real egg from a pair that had two. They were good fathers and the chick, Tango, did well.
A bizarre opposite-sex marriage occurred in Massachusetts coincidentally on the first day that same-sex marriages became legal. Father James Porter, a convicted pedophile, married an ex-nun in the Sexual Offenders Unit of Walpole State Prison, where he still resides.
No doubt we can conclude that this mockery of a marriage was the direct result of legalizing same-sex marriages. :rolleyes:

Not to disagree with your point about the silliness of the same-sex marriages opposition, but IMNSHO women who marry serious offenders in jail may not be precisely healthy, themselves.
There seems to be distinct personality that finds the convict alluring. From what I understand guilt or innocence really doesn’t matter to these women - they may protest the man involved is lily white, but even if hard evidence comes in to refute their theories about how the original conviction was a miscarriage of justice, they’ll just go on to trying to support their man. In some ways, there is a sense that these women feel they get the best of both worlds: they have a legal relationship to a man, and are demonstrably the center of the world for thier man; without having to worry about what the man might do if they ever get alone together. The history of these women often includes child abuse and/or spousal abuse.
So… umm… just saying the pathology here isn’t anything new. Just saddening. (And if that sort of marriage is legal… how can anyone stand against same sex marriages? Even if’n they’re fuckheads, don’t they have to be getting some bare minimum of oxygen to be able to vote?)
