I was asleep dreaming up ideas on how to get Giant Eagle (our version of Krogers) to carry the small heritage potatoes I prefer. I’m just doubtful it can be done since they are pretty horrible to eat. Then I awoke to a terrible leg cramp. Coincidence? I’m not so sure. So I’m having a couple drinks while I contemplate it.
We prefer the term “upwardly mobile-ish”

Today shall be fairly busy. I have a meetin’ over to the church house at eight-thirty this a. of m. to discuss mowage of the back forty. We’re settin’ up a schedule for the two teams. No mowage will ensue this mornin’ because that was done a couple weeks ago and the back forty still looks ok. This afternoon OYKW and I are goin’ up to Dawson, Jawja to visit JDD’s folks who are in the nursin’ home there. We haven’t done this in a while so we decided today would be the day. Dindin shall be et at the local good Eyetalian place. It’s a whirlwind day of excitatement!

Higgs was a butt and woke me early, so I have a chance to check it. My kiln is done kilning - it’ll cool down all day and overnight, and I’ll unload it tomorrow. **FCD **has run to Lowe’s for a grinding wheel, and shortly, I will pack up my deviled egg makin’s and head north. But first I need to change my shirt. I’m going to be breakfasting on the way and considering my tendency to drop greasy stuff upon my shirt, I decided I’d better wear a grubby t-shirt enroute and change there.
That’s the Saturday morning excitement.

After a shower, I’ll be heading into Nashville for my group’s turn to serve lunch at the homeless shelter. Then it’s home to fix a salad for a potluck tonight.
I got to sleep in today. No, I didn’t just get up, was up @ 6am for bike ride, which has now been completed. Yestididdy morn was 4am & tomorrow is about 5:30 am (but might get moved up to 3:30-4am-ish :eek: if we can secure one more entry for the sold out race).
I know someone who signed up but can’t come, trying to see if we can swap & use his entry, but that means not enough space for everyone so we’ll sleep @ home & go up in the morning as opposed to spending the night in the city tonight.
Otherwise it’s a free morning, though I do have some videos I need to edit.
I been busy today. Burned a brush pile, mowed the yahd, and raked part of the back because the dead clippings were so thick the grass underneath was dying.
I am so happy to report I got the drop on a tick that was trying to ambush me. Part of the back yahd is under a cedar tree the neighb or has, and I noticed this big-assed tick dangling from a web. He saw me, to, and those little legs were flailing, trying to grab on. I grabbed the web about a foot above, and carried him to the bed of coals that was my brush pile. There was great satisfaction hearing the pop when that lil bastard exploded from the heat. Evil->:D

It’s a bright sunny 73 degrees outside, it felt nice to sit out there a bit when I put the dog out.
It’s supposed to rain today, tomorrow and Moonday but it doesn’t look like rain.
I heard from a friend last night that I haven’t been able to reach for a while. It was nice to hear from him, we have a lot of catching up to do.
If you had asked me before I packed how many books do I have I would have said maybe two dozen. If you had asked me after I packed I would have said about 50. Now that I’m pulling them all out and putting them away? I never knew I had so many books. I don’t have enough room for all of them.
I overslept today but it’s ok, I need the sleep.
I’m thinking about, but not sure if I can do it, but I’m thinking about painting my screens. I don’t want anything elaborate, just something simple and pretty that adds privacy.

Howdy Y’all! Had my meetin’ over to the church house and then I bugged out. I’ll be there in a couple of weeks when it’s my turn again but today was not the day for me and yahd irk. We are now lazin’ about until we go to the old folks home this afternoon.
I tried to call my aunt because today is her birthday.
We’ll order pizza later because it’s Sah-son birthday. He’s still sleeping because this is what he does. I don’t know what he is going to do when he starts school.

I walked Gordie a couple of times, made a country ham, egg and cheese on sourdough sandwich for brunch, and cleaned the bathroom. Now it’s playoff hockey time.

The benefits of a classical education.
Went to see the musical “Next to Normal” last night. It’s about a family where the mother has a serious mental illness. It was really difficult for me to watch because it was disturbingly similar to my own family life.
Today a few of my old friends were selling homemade pizza, so I went into town and had some of their pizza. Good times
Some day we have to compare family trees; there are just too many places where we overlap.
Did all the flowers today for our family and a few others I “trade” with - we cover their Pittsburgh connections and they cover some of my out-of-town ones. Now its time to think about going out for dinner. We earned it today.

In a while we shall go and dine at the good Eyetalian place. YUM! I’m commencin’ to be hongry so I should be good and hongry by the time we go.
