We’re staying at a real log cabin this weekend. It’s nice except for two issues, the ceiling to the basement is too low (as my poor head can attest to). I can hit my shoulder when going down the stairs unless I duck. Also, we ran out of water last night, ran the well dry. No washing dishes, tooth brushing by bottled water, peeing off the deck (for the guys). It should get fixed today, maybe before we head home.
There is a nice waterfall behind the house & I caught an amazing photo showing three seasons yesterday. The snow moved out leaving blue skies behind it! Snow of winter (see the white flakes on the left), colored leaves of fall, & blue sky/sun of spring/summer.
Now we should have one more flight before going home. & now this important announcement: It’s hijack time!
I hate when I have to look at my phone to see what day it is.
It’s dark and cold outside. It was cold last night when Sah-son took the trash out, as soon as he opened the door the cold blast charged down the hall and smacked me in the face.
Cool pic Spidey!
I’m up too early, I’m going to stay up and log in to irk. Later today I’ll drive Sah-son to the college so he can get his ID and take his art test. He needs to choose his classes for next semester this week so he can be ready to register on next Moonday. Dilemma for him, he loves science but all the labs have to be taken at the college. That puts his shyness up against his interest. Sooner or later he’s going to have to step out into the world and meet people.
Spidey, I am of the species Homo Urbanize, the thought of spending a weekend in a log cabin fills me only with dread. More power to you for it and like the picture, but I prefer a place with running water.
Weather here in N. Ali-bama is also in transistion, one day being near 80F, then rain, then 50F days, then back up to 70F. But no snow…you really don’t want to see Southerners try to drive in snow…
Sari, someday the world will come to your son, wether he wants it to or not. Best he learn to deal with it and try to negotiate it on his terms instead of having life dictate it to him…which actually helps you not at all, but I feel better have given some useless paternal-sounding advice…
Other wise, I’ll get my Blurf in before rosie comes along with her usual Moanday morning mega-blurf…
I have been a bit MiA recently, work has been crazily busy for the last three weeks (welcome week for new students and then the first couple of teaching weeks where everything goes completely bonkers), and I was on holiday in Hungary last week.
Now I’m back…and I can quite easily say that Hungary has at least four seasons in one day, if not more! We spent a lovely morning out in the sun with beautiful blue skies, went to the spa in the afternoon to avoid the rain, and drove home in pitch darkness in thick fog…all while enjoyhing bitter winter winds.
Now that I’m back, I’ll try to keep up a bit more!
I had to take a little nap after getting up too early.
Now I have to get some breakfast and get ready to drive to the college. It’s a two hour test so I’ll have to make sure my phone is 100%, play some WWF to keep me busy.
I am now shareboarding a hose named Tucker after my beloved Bob crossed the bridge almost 2 years ago. Tucker is so flippin’ cute and I forgot how much I like being at the barn and hanging around with horses. The only thing that Tucker doesn’t like are manhole covers. He gives them the side eye and sidles by. There isn’t room enough to list the things BOB didn’t like. It’s nice to be able to ride un-defensively.
Howdy Y’all! Sneakin’ in a post from irk. I got back to the orifice about half an hour ago from a trip down to the southwest forty to enroll two people. Today started out a cool 47 Amurrkin and clear. Right now 'tis 68 Amurrkin out with clear skies and supposed to reach around 72 at some point this afternoon.
Tonight is steak night over to the church house, thus steaks are marinatin’ and beer is chillin’. We decided on sides of baked sweet N.O.T., sallit, bacon wrapped spareguts, and bizkits. YUM!
Bob took offense at everything, but the biggest crime were the 4 crows sitting on the fence. He would not go near those for anything. Oh, and the evening the bucket next to his stall was 4 inches out of line? That resulted in a total meltdown and he wouldn’t go in the barn until the bucket was moved back. He was a spaz but I still loved him and miss him everyday.
Howdy from IRK! Yes irk. My week off will commence tomorrow as I had things I just needed to do today and since it is Moanday, the worst day of the week, I figured I’d just get em done today. Good thing too as my Lead had to go home early cause her children were sick. She promised me she will be here tomorrow no matter what so I can be off.
So, as a treat for being inconvenienced I went and bought me a new tablet
The weather is overcast, dreary, windy and threatening rain. Thus business is sort of slow which makes the day drag by. I could leave any minute but I don’t wanna leave my only help alone this early.
When I went for my new tablet as I was leaving I opened my car door and there was a black lady in there. Startled both of us. When I saw the zebra fur steering wheel cover I realized it wernt my car at all.:smack: We both had a laugh. My car was two up in the lot. Same make, model, color sans furry zebra steering wheel cover. I think I am getting old.
Home!!! I had a productive day, teaching myself to do stuff in CREO. My cube mate has moved to his new home, and they tell me I’ll be moving tomorrow. I’ll believe it when I see it.
Alas, NMCI has a major league net nanny, so I can’t post anything from work. I can’t even access my personal email. Which is fine - I’ve got stuff to do!
Supper is Hamburger Helper. And that’s pretty much all I’ve got.
Home from the college. Sah-son - not the horse - got his ID and took the test. He had to ask for directions both to the building and then to the correct room. He was surprised at how nice people were. I told him, this is college, not high school. Most people are nice and willing to help.
I know MetalMouse, he needs to get out there and get over it. How I ever got a shy child? His father was extremely outgoing. However, we both came from shy families so if it’s genetic that’s where he got it.
We stopped at TacoHell on the way home. Now I have to fix the charge, it looks like they ran it though 3 times. Of course it might self correct.
